I used to always play X Sabers against my best friends Fortune ladies. We played other decks but always came back to there. They were so perfectly matched (Until Spell books hit the scene :') ) But we had so many fun dules and fond memories of Sabers VS Fortune Ladies

Dark is my favorite. She recalls the past and every turn the past grows (her level increase) giving you more to remember (her Allies) and through effort (battle) you can remember things like a Bright Futures (Light) or a Burning passion (Fire) those whimsical days (Wind) the sad days (Water) The Fierce days (Earth) or just relive the past (Dark). I just feel they are excellent and one of my favorite characters get them.

Interestingly enough Fortune Lady Every seems like her design is meant to reflect a purified version of Fortune Lady Past with her outfit having the same highlight but being white and her face and hair are uncovered, revealing she's quite beautiful looking much like how Carly is quite attractive without her glasses. It's possible had Carly's character arc not be ruined, she'd have likely undergone a similar change, ditching her glasses and becoming more confident.

Fiery was my first introduction to archetypes. I owned a rare copy of her and I treasured her with my heart. I don't know what it is about her artwork that drew my attention but I couldn't stop looking at the card. And then a friend of mine who knew more about Yu-Gi-Oh than me told me about the other 5 and my goal is to own a copy of them all. And I was hoping one day they would continue the archetype, so that I could have 12 Fortune Ladies, so we're getting closer.

I have to ask the comments section: Why are you people okay with the censorship at all? If you have to censor something just to make it "kid-friendly" it should click that the thing wasn't designed for kids to begin with. This is the same problem as what localization companies (like Funimation and NISA) were and are currently doing to video games and anime. The fact that still nobody is calling out Konami for their archaic practice which they continue to this day baffles me. Not only that, they're now selling you back the solution (Lost Art Promotion) to the problem _they_ created. That they're even willing to print the original art of cards at all is just proof that the OG art itself was never a problem over here.

I've always thought of Fortune Lady Past as sort of like a Kaibaman card where the Monster Card was clearly a reflection of a in-universe character associated with their ace monsters or archetype like you said Fortune Lady Past basically wears the same outfit as Carly's dark signer outfit with the black base color and orange trimmings of the earthbound hummingbird the fact that its fortune lady "past" sort of symbolizes her dark past as a dark signer which might be a reason Fortune Lady Every a "Light" Monster is the last card going by level in the archetype symbolizing her bright future in contrast to her dark past which is why Past is level 1 that was a theory a dumb theory thanks for reading

Old video I know, but wanted to make a few of my comments. This archetype is the best designed Konami have ever done. Just perfect. I want to talk a little bit about Generic Support cards that are effective with Fortune Ladies. 1) Trap cards. 3 Come to mind here, and they are Compulsory Evacuation Device, Call of the Haunted, Torrential Tribute and Skull Lair. All of them support the deck in the same way - by giving you alternative ways to make Fortune Lady Light leave the field by card effect. Compulsory evacuation device lets you recall Light, possibly letting you disrupt your opponent on their turn, and then get more value out of them by getting another trigger with Future Visions. Call of the Haunted lets you punish attempts at back-row removal by chaining it, summoning Fortune Lady Light and then triggering her effect. Torrential Tribute lets you clear the opponents board, while activating lght. Skull Lair Banishes a Fortune Lady from the grave to destroy Light, setting up Fortune's Future while also fetching another monster from the deck. 2) Spell Cards. Namely, Different Dimension Gate and Dark Hole. Removes an opponents monster while triggering lights effect, and possibly setting up a Fortune's Future. 3) Main Deck Monster cards. Apprentice Magician, Frequency Magician, Breaker the Magical Warrior, Catoblepas and the Witch of Fate, and Chaos Sorcerer. Apprentice Magician Helps search out your Fortune Lady Light. When normal Summoned, it can give a spell counter to another monster (such as Breaker), and is then removed until next turn by Future Visions. When it returns, you can safely switch it to defense mode. Frequency is a Light Tuner, which could help setup the graveyard more favourably for a Chaos Sorcerer. Breaker can remove backrow, and gets to reuse its effect with Apprentice Magician. Catoblepas Banishes your fortune ladies to get card advantage, setting up Fortunes future in the process. Chaos Magician can banish your own fortune Lady light to trigger its effect in a pinch. 4) Extra Deck Monster Cards. Synchros are the clear option, but with a special note to Brionac and Dewloren (Ice Barrier). Monsters that are banished by the effect of Future Visions and Different Dimension gate are Permanently banished if those cards return to your hand - Dewloren lets you recycle them to get more effects. Dewloren also lets you return Wind to your hand to recycle her backrow removal effect (unfortunately, Fortune Lady Light misses timing with Dewloren). Brionac CAN trigger Lights effect however. Weaknesses: As all the notes above might suggest, Fortune Ladies as an archetype are "find fortune lady light or lose: the deck". Even if you do find Light, she is stupidly prone to miss timing, and an opponent chaining their own removal to your chain-starter that removes light causes her to miss timing, leaving you stranded.

I do agree with the censorship issue-- they ruin everything :P This is now my main deck I love for their all-around playstyle capable of doing almost anything with the right combo. But best fortune lady i like is Fire for her ability to one shot a strong monster is used right even OTK.

Each of them have a didferent effect, but the one they all share is that they can be special summoned when you draw them. Once you draw a Fortune Fairy, they special summon themselves and then their specific effect activates.

I like the total shift with the archetype. Normal Carly:Fortune fairy chee. Stands for bad luck, but is always adorable and smiling. Dark signer Carly:Fortune Lady Past. Edgy deathgirl.

I like the Fortune Ladies, as I recently started playing Duel Links and the FL deck I play does okay in player duels (I'm only bronze rank - don't do online often since my wifi connection sucks), and like he said, it's a very well balanced archetype. I like to use Serra from DSoD with the +300Atk/Def ability since they all have the same atk/def so they get a boost which combined with Time Passage can boost them enough to overcome stronger monsters. Also use Dimension Hole with FL Light's effect to bring out either FL Dark or FL Earth. Again, only recently started playing so there's probably better combos, but it's what I got.

We kinda already know the plot tho. They all met as kids and when they turned adult/late-teen, they formed a magical girl groop, but then it turns out that chee was split from her dark half at some Point, who became past. Then they meet a small girl with ultra mega strong magical powers and through some shenanagans, she transforms into an omnipotent waifu girl called every and solves the issue.

I’d like to think that Past is a reference to dark signer Carly due to the similar color scheme and the fact that she’s the only one whose effect manipulate the levels of other fortune ladies. Add to that the fact she’s a tuner which makes her the centerpiece to a synchro based deck.

Always loved the Fortune Lady archetype, but just wished it didn't take so long to get additional support for them. It is a shame to have a type (like Iron Chains and Dark Mimic too), only have a few cards made for them and never give them anymore support afterwards. Yet there are some types that are given so much support automatically that they almost become tier 1 by default.
