I'll never forget working at a SXSW gig like a decade ago and being asked to use this to run sound for everyone. I was shocked because of the reputation that behringer once held, but this to me is the moment behringer began to turn that all around.

I had a rocky start with the X32 as I was used to mixing a band's gigs on analog desks. The first time I encountered this system it was the 19inch version which is basically a soundcard and I got an iPad shoved in my face where I had to do a complete mix for the band. Let's just say you didn't want to be at that soundcheck lmao! I did some work on the desktop version later on and was quite glad with how it all worked! I understand why the whole of live mixing is moving over to this thing because of the tiny footprint compared to analog + outboard, not to mention reliability, but I still missed that sound of driving a channel or a bus like I used to on for instance a Soundcraft GB4. Your vids are great man!

I help out at a church and they have this board. It’s amazing work and I think personally any serious producer/dj should consider purchasing it. It’s really deep and flexible. My only wish is they had more slots for insert fx per channel but you can always use another channel for an fx bus if need be. It’s really the standard of digital mixers

I had the Xenyx mixer back in the days and all my music buddies thought I was the man cus I could hook my mic, turntable, etc. to my computer. I've got the compact version of the X32. I love it, but I don't use it enough. Thanks for the video.

I bought a new Akai S2000 and Yamaha CS1X back in 1997, both were made in China. The quality of these were actually alright, the CS1X had one knob that felt a bit rough though. These days Roland, Korg and everyone else makes their gear in China.

I think Behringer got lucky when they released the X32. It was a dope board don't get me wrong, but the timing was perfect. I bought a lot of Behringer's outboard gear back in the early 2000s. Compressors, mic pres, EQs, effects processors and every last piece was trash. I moved on and Behringer kinda fell off my radar. I think that's what happened with the release of the X32, their reputation was so bad that nobody took them series so everybody kinda forgot about them. Now in 2012, you got so newer guys or guys on a budget with a coupla thousand bucks to spend and they bought the X32 and word spread how good it was. It is still selling strong today. They've turned their rep around and have become a solid contender. That's hard to do.

They’ve definitely turned their reputation around. I’ve seen a lot of reluctant praise to them from various folks commenting on videos about their replications of famous synths; at least in the beginning. Nowadays I see a lot of praise for their stuff, especially for having great quality at affordable prices.

I think 2012 was a necessary with social media being prevalent at about 7 years old and information was flowing so quickly and effectively that they could no longer afford to rely on the ignorance of beginners like they once could. They got to a point they had to do something and to beat their legal issues head on with more risky but calculated endeavors. They couldn't just be the poor man's intro devices anymore because retention was terrible. Niche products need return customers.

Some of their higher end pa stuff is pretty good especially the turbosound stuff they slap a behringer logo on. Also the DDM4000 is a DOPE dj mixer that could be a whole video itself.

Love my x32, but an update is needed to track all inputs post or pre from mixer to usb/computer. Sick of saving scenes and cheating the usb recorder to capture the desired audio .

I have the x32 rack, x32 big counsel, x touch with extender along with other Behringer gear. I have a lot of expensive gear also, however I have never had any problems from Behringer. All the channels not to mention Dante which I have.

I have the xtouch that is like a way cheaper slimmed down version, but I want to get something else. It's only a USB controller. No big screen either. Same buttons, label/value screens, Mackie MCU motorized faders. No sound though only. I want the audio I/O to go to my interface and patchbay. Been looking at that model 12 or 24...but you need the right desk for it.

It wasnt even planed it just happened. and when they wnet down on spending, those chinese chips wernt as reliable... very revelent story
