Glad you chose this wood, it has a wonderful grain and is not as boring as the other ones.

Agreed! We really liked the textures and depth of the wood grain. It will really come alive when its varnished!

Interesting that the grain is horizontal and not the usual vertical. Looking good so far!

Fernando is amazing. Clearly knows the correct most efficient adjustments to make so the work goes quickly. You started with a small boat and with beautiful interior it is looking larger. Still, you will have an awesome small efficient boat

Thanks!! Totally agree, they make this work look easy! The equipment they have as well is top notch and nothing that we could afford. We feel extremely lucky to be working with them!! 🍀🙌⛵️

Marine engineer said a water tight bulkhead should be made out of the same steel as the ship or boat. It supposed to hold water out if you get a hole.

Looks great! You'll probably want Luke to stay up on watch while you're snoozing so I wouldn't worry about the size of the v berth.😎

It's weird how I feel like I could weld a boat together but would be completely lost when it comes to interior design and building. It's looking fantastic!

This is advice I can give you. I can to keep my boats utilitarian. Some trips you do this. Some trips that. So with that being said. Monster so you can get in and out of places you may need to access. Also instead of making a big build off a GetGo. Make it where you can live on it and sail. And as you go. You will actually see the things that you need. Because you can even imagine what your life's going to look like next year. I 100% guarantee. You going to want to change this. Within the first year. And I can guarantee year 2, you going want a redo again. This is words of wisdom. I've been there done that. I have seen boats come. And I have seen boats go. And if I sink the boat I am home today. It won't be long before I'm on another boat. I'm not trying to hurt your feelings in any way. But once you get out there. You going to want to go to another. This boat that boat. Once you get the fever. It never stops.

Agree. I bought my boat in 2018 and I first began to change things and do upgrades etc now. I had ideas but I wanted to own the boat and sail it and live in and feel it before I begin to throw my ideas and money into it. I also wanted to be sure that this is the boat I will fall in love with and have it for years to come And it turned out to be really wise!

Really great to see a professional interior build. Amateur building tends to be 80% thinking and rethinking , 10% building , 10% making it work right! What is the time frame of actual working in the boat ( not thinking and pre building) time in the boat is the most time consuming without a plan! Go ‘mobli-mar’👍👍👍 Cheers Warren

They are doing a bang-up job arn't they! It would be fun to build this on our own but it would definitely take us ages longer. The fear of doing something wrong and wasting material would occupy 40% of our brains for every cut 😂. It's hard to say a time frame for the carpentry since they gave multiple jobs going on. But we can say they are very efficient!

I don't know if the V-berth is your "master bedroom" or not but it looks big enough for the two of you. Remember that the mattress will actually widen things a bit and that you need to measure with your head right at the bulkhead not 12 inches forward. Last year we spent our time in a 23 ft boat with 4 adult sized people. The V-berth did not have sitting height even but we managed (I won't talk about where our sons slept ;) ) Our "new" 50 year old 29 foot boat has a V-berth we can sit in and still have head room... feels luxurious! Anyway, it is looking good.
@lahakai

I will be our master bedroom! It's extremely spacious right now and you are right, it will get a little length with the mattress. Lukes thankfully fits when he is corner to corner if he wants to stretch out. You are a bold family to fit 4 adults and a child in a 23 ft'er, bravo! 😆 We love how nothing stops you all from enjoying the water! Cheers!

Wow, it's looking really great. You'll have lots of storage but lot of space too. Are you considering having some parts in white, in order it won't be 100% wood?
@lahakai

Thanks so much, glad you like it! Yes! We will have sections painted in white to break up the wood monotony.

I'm going to put your subscribers numbers in my comments so we can return later and see how long it takes to get 1000 subscribers! 12.6K 18 June 2023. You are making real progress on your interior build. I just hope all your wires and plumbing and ducting is in. I will hate to see this construction ripped out down the road to add something like air conditioning or a water maker. Nothing changes the appearance of the interior like floors and walls and furniture! I've never seen a sponsorship like this, but I'm sure it will give both parties a big boost!

I do not see any use of epoxy on the cut edges of plywood veneers. They will swell-up in moist climates, such as your steel boat interior. Your insulation will not stop all hull sweating. Also air humidity, climate created, will add to humidity. Be prepared for the cost of dehumidifiers and open cabinets to circulate air!

Starting to really come together! I know you plan to varnish or paint the exterior parts of the wood, but do you have plans to take the parts back out and sell the backsides and end grain? I always worry about seeing any bare wood in a boat even if it is is a location that "shouldn't" get wet.
@lahakai
@lahakai Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! So their strategy is to model the wood and then everything will be removed and brought back into the factory where it will be, sealed, varnished and painted. Then they'll install everything permanently. Nothing has been glued together yet, it's all loose and workable to measure it and get it to fit. Cheers!

Is that v berth big enough?? Another 30cm longer and 15cm higher would make big enough for 2. Reckon 2 people will have feet on top of each other.

Num barco em aço todo o casco pelo interior tem de ter obrigatoriamente acesso fácil, dá impressão que na cama de vante isso não acontece.

Man that’s some oddball angles to deal with . Ridiculously time consuming.. then remove it and then back in and trimmed . That’s pretty pimped . I wanna give you advice but I think you got it under control.
