Its plain to see the depth of your own spiritualism in the laminates you've chosen and that the total is much greater than the sum of its parts. The strength of the marine ply, the delicate, flowing grains of the laminate and the perfect angles of fit and finish all combine to generate a zen like keystone that will anchor a feng shui like interior, akin to the interior of HSBC's Hong Kong headquarters. Makers like yourselves are on a voyage of discovery. Plumbing ever deeper depths of spirituality, as your journey of creation unfolds. Your generosity in sharing this part of your journey is a blessing to all of us, who dream but not dare to self express in noble forms such as plywood, laminate and vibrant shades of brown. You are obviously a very gifted couple, with joyous personalities evident in every choice that you make in your project. I foresee the completion of your galley / kitchen being indistinguishable from any of the wonders of nature because of your choosing to use natural materials, where others might have chosen the ease of using man-made plastics. As you said so eloquently. Your dance of creativity with your master craftsmen will result in a unique design philosophy all of your own. You are the wood and the wood is you. I am almost turning blue with held breath as I anticipate witnessing the fruits of your joint creation in the head. As well as the feng shui challenges ahead, that I have no doubt you will both rise to and exceed, with effortless grace.

I am also riffing on a 42-foot steel sailboat that is 40 years old. For the interior, they used a piece of equipment that used a laser beam to do an entire interior scan of the boat, obtaining a 3-D model of the boat; the measurements obtained had an error of less than a millimeter. With the 3D model they designed all the furniture, which fit 90% perfectly

@@charonstyxferryman If the hull does not have a straight line between the stern and the bow there is a problem, a big problem. The 10% tolerance is due to the expansion of the metal due to atmospheric temperature

Seeing so many square corners and CNC pieces looks unusual in a yacht interior 😊 The nature of boats makes me wonder if there will be issues with the cabinets squeaking as the boat takes the seas. This is a great channel thanks for sharing your journey ❤

It is! We are going for a modern design that will match our modern looking hull. It will be very interesting to see how it turns out, wont it?

@@lahakai That's the difference between home design and boat design, home carpenters and boat carpenters. I'm too into modern design, but the approach on a boat it's different in some parts. We can't build a cabinet or whatever in the same way we do for our house. We need to keep into consideration many other factors. I'm not telling that you are wrong, just pointing that you should keep in mind that a boat is living and moving all the time.

Indeed CNC and boat work can be blended by using templates describing the contours where fitting needs to happen..Once established CNC work can take over.. Like the progress and in particular for this video, the creativity reflections in the narration were outstanding..job well done..

Very correct! There are certain applications that the CNC would excel at and we can do that moving forward. For maximizing our space the framing can be manual and other pieces that need more precision can be cut by machine. Glad you like the work so far! Cheers!

a 3d scan is definitely the answer however it is only useful if someone knows how to extract the correct info from it.

One thing I see in videos is people doing what you are doing, never tells we the viewers how you afford this. So we just have to think these people being so young must have rich parents or something. I know KZbin pays for your content, but is it all paid for with KZbin money. I can’t do what you guys are doing because of money, And Age. I can’t afford a big loan payment. And if you can’t show how you can pay back , you can’t get a loan. How dose anyone get into this life style ? You seem open to explaining things so that is why I asked you this. And I have asked others the same, most never answer this question. I know another channel, that bought a boat for very little money, started the channel and has paid for refit as they went along. I have worked and saved for years to do something like this, was never able to get something like this. Maybe in your country it is cheap to live and easy to make money. It is not in USA. Maybe you guys have college degrees, I don’t ! Never could afford to get educated.

Using the word “we” a little bit too much. Your taking a little bit too much credit for the build. That’s like me going over blue prints with my builder to build my house and taking credit. Calling myself an artist. Just sayin. Boat is looking good though.

Love what your doing and the journey, you guys are great , but you sometimes over explain it and it takes away from the video and we would just like to watch the process sometimes . So don’t take this as a negative but as constructive feedback.

Video of interior work was fine, but spoiled by dreamy, over-the-top narration on the "creative process". Give your viewer FACTS about the materials, the challenges, the decisions made. "New Age" psycho-babble is just hamburger helper. "Little triangle things" are called gussets. Learn the term "spiling" and the process. It's how to define curves and transfer them to flat panels. You now realize that old-fashioned spiling will trump computer design. ROUND THE SHARP CUTS on the galley counter-top. You'll hurt yourself on those sharp angles. Love your show, and believe you are learning, and succeeding.

You don't have to be "rich" to sail. I built my first sailboat when I was broke. I used scrap plywood and leftover paint. Stop whining and get building!
