As an Australian watching this series, its been great fun. Generally, Woolworths and Coles don't have a such large loading area behind them, typically, the truck bays and some small roads. High school students with the tram connection is definitely good. With the road markings with a town name, not a usual thing around me, typically it is an overhead or by the road sign denoting where the roads goes.
@SephStuff
@SephStuff Жыл бұрын
Was going to say the same thing - supermarkets have small loading bays because the produce basically rolls off the truck into the store room and onto the shelves. Much more likely to just be a boring carpark around the supermarket, but maybe a small collection of shops like a bakery, butchers and newsagent trying to skim some foot traffic from Woolies would be there.
@mattc41981
@mattc41981 Жыл бұрын
Yes it’s way too big. Stores wouldn’t have that much outside space. Most stores I worked in even had the rubbish bin areas inside the store as it reduces the risk of it being set on fire overnight. Adding in small commercial alongside Woolies would be a more realistic use of the space

I also said this about Bunnings. 😂 But what Egg probably doesn't realise that in a city that is as big as Thessia will be there would at least be 3 Bunnings, Woolies and Coles. Sp plenty of time for redemption 😂

Your 'well hello people' never fails cheering me up. And look at you playing with IMT and network multislope (😁) like a king! Big like on the bypass network (to be) but now the next town has to be called Nowhere since you said that's the road to nowhere... 😆 I'll see myself out... The map canvas is stunning and the billboard is super awesome, Rich and Terry deserve all the praise ❤

Loving the artsy vibes of this new neighbourhood, definitely feels like a newly developed area, maybe it used to be a part of the harbor with some warehouses and stuff. These horseshoe shaped buildings are so cute with their little parks, just confuses me a little that the inner parks face outwards and not towards the parking lot. This way their community garden just points right on a pretty busy road 😅

Those portable classrooms definitely make the school look more like what you'd find in aussie/nz! Although there'd usually be many more individual classrooms than that, you've done a great job making do with what's possible in game! Looking forward to the upcoming wine town, hoping to possibly see some more nz inspiration in the future!

41:50 Australia's winemaking history stretches back to 1788, when Governor Arthur Phillip brought the first vines to Sydney. In 1833, James Busby, considered the father of the Australian wine industry, brought cuttings from Spain and France and introduced Shiraz (a.k.a. Syrah) and Grenache to the region. I feel "Syrah hills" or "Syrah point" would be great names for the vineyard area. Great series BTW. Only just found you and I love the content. Inspirational stuff.

Really nailing the realism in this map. Reminds me a lot of the Western Cape especially as you drive up the N7 with the spread out little towns. Quite looking forward to the vineyards, Cape Town, where I'm from, is full of them and been wanting to add one into my city for a while now. Can't wait to see how you do it. The coloured houses are definitely CT vibes, looking a lot like Bokaap. Something I'd like to see is a golf course, not sure how Aussies feel about golf.

Loved this town and I am really looking forward to the winery/vineyard town. I live not far from Napa and Sonoma valley, those wine growing areas. While not Australian, there are some similarities. The winery is composed of the vineyard, of course, and rose bushes are often placed at the perimeter of the vineyard in a fence as an early warning system for mildew. The buildings are big sheds, fused together -the processing area in big tanks inside and then another big shed/barn/building for the barrels where the wine rests. Then there is the wine tasting area, and thats generally quite attractive, so you can have fun with the architecture. There is often an outside restaurant under a pergola, with a view, etc.

Sentinel looks great! Love all the final touches, but logistically the delivery area for that supermarket is way too big, it's twice the size of the store itself and could make room for other shopping or housing if it were more reasonably smaller than the store. Really all you need is room for a truck and some dumpsters, all the product would be stored inside

Loving the Thessia theme! As an Aussie expat it really does remind me of home so well done! Idk if you fixed it later but you can get better text IMT for where the bypass splits if you do the 3 lane maths before the split and the Sentinel text will then have its own turn arrow lane.

Grocery retailers don't keep stock outside in their yard, but empty roll cages or recycling returns, empty pallets and old equipment would be. Clarification - if there _was_ stock in the yard, it'd be securely stored in those trailers which would've been hired as overflow storage, especially if the refrigerated stores were at capacity like at Christmas.
