I don't guess the ends of the inner slot has to be squared off as in the drawing. great job!

Nicely done. Would have helped me if you showed how you located the work on the rotary table to get the curves at the correct radius from the centre of rotation. And showed how you determined the coordinates for the three holes. Using the pin to locate the holes over the centre of rotation for the radius around the holes is good. Also my rotary table is only a 4". Any extra measures when using a small rotary table?
@EnglishHobbyMachinist2 ай бұрын
@@AndrewClarke-wb5hh the work was positioned at the correct radius from the centre of the table by just measuring with a rule and then sweeping the table to confirm the radius would cover the material, dimensions for radius and holes were taken from the drawing 👍

3.24 where did you get your puffy blowy thing? I've looked allover and never seen one. Quin uses one as well, seems a good idea rather than firing up the compressor for a little job.

@@paulrayner4514 I do a bit of photography and they are designed to blow fluff of the camera lens. If you google camera lens puff or something like that, should throw up some results 👍

What is the material being milled?

@@paulmcdonnell1833 hi, it’s aluminium 👍
@paulmcdonnell18332 ай бұрын
@@EnglishHobbyMachinist thank you. Do you use aluminium much for valve gear rods etc? Thinking about aluminium for connecting rods etc as well as the reversing link etc. Worried it may not wear as well as steel.
@EnglishHobbyMachinist2 ай бұрын
@@paulmcdonnell1833 I use aluminium because I build my models for show and not to use 👍👍
