FORWARDER STUCK IN THE MUD!!

Greetings from Finland (where Ponsse headquarters is located). I really liked your videos, I watched pretty much all of them! I'm a software engineer in Finland who has developed a software for harvesters (Ponsse, John Deere, Timberjack, pretty much all we have in Finland). The software is linked to the corresponding client (in our case they're all sawmills) and it sends/receives lots of data from there. For example the areas that need to be harvested and the type of harvesting. Also the harvester can send all the harvesting data to the sawmill which goes directly to the forwarder so the forwarder guy can immediately see what the harvester did (how much of particular timber assortments and where did the harvester move on the stand). There are challenges in this which I'm trying to work all the time! Major challenges are network availability, old computers and users (All users don't want to use extra time using computer, and older people don't want to adapt to new things). Anyway I'm proud what I do and I'm always trying to watch videos from the field and real life. Thanks for putting these videos in youtube!

Hey again, yes our software helps everyone when everything works perfectly. But things don't usually work perfect in real life so in some cases it's only a burden. It's sometimes hard to connect wild nature with current technology! I have some questions regarding your work. When working in the forest and you have to go to bathroom, does this literally mean "nature calls"? :D What kind of work hours do you do and what time of the day? Do you and Becky own both the harvester and the forwarder in this video? In Finland we have lots of stupid regulations and directives (thanks to the EU) that harvester contractors have to follow. How much bureaucracy is there in the US concerning the vehicles you drive? What season is the best for harvesting? Btw nice that Ponsse got you out from trouble. :) Well naturally it did because it finnish ;)

We run forwarders up here in Oregon and we have tracks on the bogies helps a lot in those situations. You should pick you up a set for your back bogie makes the machine more stable too. Great vid and tell Beckie that I have ran forwarder we all have those days.

I AM BIGFOOT hey there. When we bought this forwarder a few months back we didn't get the tracks when It was delivered we still have to get them. But yes we do have them but thanks for the info I'm sure they do help some

its no idea too have so much gas. Only so much trottle so the wheel go round. And put a few loggs under the wheel and you have get it up. Greetings from harvester driver from sweden.

you should get some tracks on the rear wheels and some good chains on the big front wheel. it will be a night and day difference from having nothing. Greetings from a ponsse driver in Norway ☺

We don't use tracks, only in extreme conditions, and i prefer not to use tracks. There is a lot of ways to get out with no problems. I have sinked my 810E and got out by putting some branches under the wheels.
