Jesus! It started raining on first test drive!!! I'd be flipping out. Also thanks for posting these comprehensive videos!!! I'm planning this swap for my 1UZ swapped IS300, I call IS400. You're swap will be about 80% the same, but definitely gave me so much more confidence on starting this project. Currently I am running the stock IS300 A650e auto. Love the power, but I want a manual swap so bad!

Wow just came across your channel as I recently got an 02 sc430. It's an awesome car makes me smile every evening. I'm a Toyota guy since I was a kid and have very much enjoyed your journey with your Gs! Awesome job on the manual swap! I can only imagine the butterflies b4 u started it up the 1st time after all that planning and research!! Cannot give u enough respect man! There are not too many Men who could even attempt a job like that let alone make it finish with such perfection and quality! Great videos too. I'm already looking at following your video on changing the rear diff from the GS300.. Beautiful CARS a guy almost doesn't want to tell anybody lol..

Job very well done! I have been following your channel for awhile. I have a super clean GS 300 that is a daily and would like to turbo. Your going to have to get a video of your car pulling away from a dead stop for your intro. Chirp a second gear shift would be sweet for a intro. Keep up the great work and videos. Again great job on the manual conversion!!!

Great video, any vibration at higher speeds? I'm using a 2 piece with the drift motion adapter on my ar5 and get some vibration at 105 and up. I was thinking of getting the solstice transmission side attachment to one of my drive shafts to see if that gets rid of vibration past 105. I never drive that fast so I might never mess with it again.

@@jicez6649 did you have to cut your driveshaft? With the dm adapter, it’s 6 to 4? What clutch disk are you using too?
@jicez66493 жыл бұрын
@@robertdonald123 the drive shaft will be custom as there is nothing that will just work with the ar5 is300 setup. The shop I went to said they could modify the stock driveshaft to bolt to the dm adapter using a 1350 flange for 500. The way he did it in the video is probably the best way to get rid of vibration by getting solstice driveshaft and having a shop attach the solstice ujoint side of the pontiac driveshaft directly to the ar5 bypassing the dm adapter. I get vibration above 105 but I'm fine with that for now as I just use it for daily driving. The clutch disc is a Sachs sprung full face disc purchased from cpr manufacturing and I believe for my setup the disc cannot be bigger than 226mm, dm has a 226mm 6 puck clutch disc that is probably the easiest way to get a hold of correctly sized disc for this setup

Great Job brother!! Does it feel like you need to make any adjustments to the Apexi Neo since the automatic is gone?
@ForwardMomentum3 жыл бұрын
Thx! Well now that it will hold gears at any rpm I can tune the low rpm range. I actually had it pretty close, but I did need to make some changes at low rpm (previously it would just kick down below 3500RPM or so). I pull fuel starting around 2000RPM at about -2% and it increases from there to -12% at redline with a target AFR of 12.7.

Thanks for the effort in documenting this. Did you see if an A70 Supra shift knob can be used? Old OEM or TRD would look stealthy.
@ForwardMomentum3 жыл бұрын
Not exactly. I had a TOYOTA euro L leather knob on there and the CUBE performed way better. Sure the L looked better, but the CUBE is twice the weight of the leather knobs. The trans is quieter and it shifts better with the CUBE, so I put it back on.
@MrCarGuy3 жыл бұрын
@@ForwardMomentum Ok, nice. Some people do prefer rounded knobs. Cube doesn't seem to list the weight of it online, but I'm sure it's possible to find a weighted leather one with the OEM look.
