Personally, the only thing Forza 7 has over Gran Turismo is native 4K resolution. Car models have higher polygon count and detail. For example take the Veneno. There's an animation on the dash when the gear changes. No game with that car does that animation except Gran Turismo. As for the lighting Polyphony has been the king in this department for years and it hasn't change. I can't wait to see the weather in GTS.

I agree, but the interior designs of some of the dashboards looks much better in Forza. There's more flashing lights, dials, working rear-cameras, and various other little details that make GTSport look severely lacking. It's kinda a mixed bag. Both games have things that look awesome, and things that look crappy. Can you imagine if these two worked together on a racing game?

GT at its current updating pace would probably reach 300-400 cars by the time PS5 comes. Its car models are superior. Its graphics is a Ray Tracing engine fitted in a console which is bonkers. Its real world tracks are officially certified by FIA by being exceptionally accurate. The new tracks being added are also overseen by FIA so they could be competitive. Official races have BOP. Its got a much more organized online experience where you are sorted by driver rating. Its also got much better physics than Forza.

I checked out a few of these vids. Loads of my mates have PS4 and I’ve got an xbox1, I caved and got a PS4 about a year ago.i got the racing bug again and gave GTS a shot, hated it. Just personal opinion. (I feel like anyone who says anything bad about GT on these things immediately gets attacked by butthurt fans) I don’t have a 4K Tv just two standard consoles both with a controller not wheel. For the many similar people I feel will be out there who aren’t rich enough to be playing all this 4K jazz, if you have the option, buy Forza 7. It’s just more fun i think. Just my 2 cents, peace

Very clear error in Forza regarding shadows at Mount Panorama. The circuit is located in Bathurst, outside Sydney, Australia. It's in the southern hemisphere, which means sun will rise in east to west but be from the north. This is absolutely correct in GT Sport which is on the left (north) of the main straight. However, Forza has the sun coming from the south. This would be correct, only if the track was in the northern hemisphere. But this is a lack of attention to detail. It's impossible to have the sun come from this direction.

Nick930 no worries. Great video. Nice to avoid bias as well. I have driven along Mt Panorama many times (it’s a public road). Driven it in GT Sport and it feels very accurate. Was recently at Laguna Seca and that’s spot on as well. They certainly get the elevations and feeling of the circuits really right. Both games are light years from predecessors. Did you play GT Sport on PlayStation Pro?

I'm all about graphics, and gtsport has great lighting, but that lower res can def hurt image quality. Both Games have Pro's and Cons, I heard people complain about both, I heard people praise both. GT Sport has the better lightning when there is light, and yes the reflections look good as well, and GT Sport has a better penalty and ghosting feature. Forza 7, however, has way more content, like way-way more content. It has the better weather effects since GT Sport simply lacks any. You can't really say any of the Two is better than the other. Both are more on the Simcade side of things, both are shifted more towards Simulation but handling wise still a tick more to Arcade to make it more accessible. Even if Grand Turismo calls itself a Real Driving simulation, it never was one and never will be. Real sims are by far more difficult, If you go full Throttle out of a corner the ass won't move a bit it will go ballistic on your ass. Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Race Room Those are modern Sim Racer.

Gran Turismo 5 will always be my favorite racing game. There was just so much you could do In it and for the time a lot of cars to choose from. I also liked gt6. Hope Gran Turismo sport lives up to it

I'm a GT player originally as I owned playstation 1 and 2 , but brought an Xbox 360 and FM2 and fell in love with the franchise, till this day enjoy both franchises , it may blow people's minds but it's ok to enjoy both , we are lucky to have two racing franchises who make brilliant games 👍

Two big differences between this two, in Forza the change in time and weather, really puts some good immersion, but the fix lighting in GT make possible a really better lighting, shadow and reflection, to me, this was the more prominent differences...

Re: Corvette in GT Sport. Forza uses the 2015 C7R and GT Sport uses the 2016 C7R. The biggest change between the two was in fact the rear diffuser. No idea where that wing came from though.

FM7 is an underrated but ALSO underdeveloped game. T10 had so much to work with and they imo dropped the ball on the single player modes. An ideal single player career array would look something like the FM7 online lobbies, with tons of very specific car classes, mixed class races etc. Viewing custom liveries in FM7 is also flawed, since you cant examine the prospective downloads in Forzavista until after you have installed it.

Owned a one X and played fm7, now on PS4 pro with GT sport. The cars do look better on GT sport but overall Forza was far better visually and gameplay. Tell you what, nothing looked as real as project cars on pc. Looks genuine real life

yes because its just some small infield track in a stadium hidden somewhere in the tier 6 campaign missions or so. its like the devs did not even want you to find it. also i think "the wet" does not look good there.

Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that they are working on the weather for some tracks... all cars in gt sport have full functional windshield whipper, and there are tires for rain too...

Just goes to show that pure pixels aren't everything. Disclaimer, this is a neutral opinion and I'm not hating on any game. In fact, given that I'm a PC gamer, I'll probably get FM7 at some point. But GTSport just looks...better. I'm not sure if it's the lighting, shading, or after so many years of oversaturated Need For Speed games and F&F movies, Forza kinda looks flat and washed out, and on replays, I'm hard-pressed to find a snap difference between GTS and the real thing. But with Forza, there's "something" that still tells me in my subconscious I'm still playing a video game.

Need to clarify something: Forza doesn't use sprites for trees. Alpha transparent polygons that intersect are used. Sprites always rotate along with the player's view as those are 2d not 3d. GT used sprites for the trees.

I've read a few articles about sprites and was under the impression that sprite is an overlay term, referring to the class of 2D objects used in 3D gaming, and that alpha transparency is a subclass of them, that don't necessarily rotate based on viewpoint but are static in the environment.

Yeah sprites are 2D images in a 3d plane. This is a single polygond with a texture of a bunch of leaves with a black and white (+grey values if you want parts that are semi transparent) alpha map applied to the transparancy channel. And it intersects with another polygon. (Texture)maps are 2d images applied to 3d meshes. Sprites are just 2d images in a 3d plane. They only have a few coordinates but aren't attached to something.
