A helpful hint to those just starting. You can reset the barriers into a circle by doing the drag race. If you are having lots of trouble crashing into them, the sign at the end of the drag strip doesnt deform so it might be easier to learn there. I am learning this by experience myself. Hopefully I'll be able to do a full lap around the circle soon. Almost had one. I was surprised by how excited I got.

I've finally decided that it's time I learned how to drift. I mentioned this on a few videos and the overwhelming response from my subscribers was to come and check out your drifting tutorial. So here I am :) I've been watching very carefully, taking notes and I've download the tune. I've just uploaded what should really be called my 'before' video, but I did practise a bit before the camera started rolling and although you probably won't believe it if you watch it, for me... that IS progress! I'll keep practising and upload more videos to show how I'm getting on as I improve. I've obviously credited you for the tutorial and put a link in the description, so hopefully my mission to master drifting will inspire other beginners to come and check out your tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to create it, I know that it's really easy to forget how hard something is for a beginner when you've been doing something for years.

Btw Abs off does make a difference if your a tandem drifter or drifter in general because when you brake with abs on it will cut the breaking power so you don’t lock the wheels but this is what you want . Locking the wheels can help chain drifts and help kick out the back end into drifts ect it’s very helpful off
@matthewgamble956 жыл бұрын
ummm handbrake??? while drifting you use the brakes to slow down and control your distance from the lead car in the case of a tandem. The handbrake is what you use to lock your wheels. In a real life situation, people don't slam on the brakes all of a sudden to get the wheels loose, this upsets the balance of the car (due to often a sudden slowing force before the brakes lock).
@itsmccream20836 жыл бұрын
DaGambler I know but in forza abs off is very helpful just with a tap off the break, I’m not on about real life but I know what you mean

If your using manual and using his way to extend corners I wouldn’t recommend this if your looking to extend corners up to manual with clutch even on a controller and learn to clutch kick because it gives you the same effect of the faster spinning wheels on the back but it also doesn’t slow you down up your game to manual with clutch also gives a better way to enter corners by coming in to a turn in say second gear holding acceleration and clutch go up to gears when you let go of clutch your wheels will start to spin fast like his example but you don’t compromise speed other than that actually love the tutorial it’s awesome to see guides for beginners even as an advanced driver

I cant find a tutorial on youtube yo see if im doing clutch kick right, can you help?
@ericsandstrom85614 жыл бұрын
i personally use the clutch on controller because i can clutch kick and loose traction easier. A: Clutch B: Handbrake LB: Shift Up RB: Shift Down this helps because i can hit both the clutch and the e-brake at the same time while holding the gas, so i clutch kic as well as use the handbrake. ive gotten used to this so its easy for me and i am really good at drifting in game. not to brag or anything.

Like I also said, me just telling you to do that doesn’t mean you’ll immediately be able to drift like a god. I just gave people my input and advice and it’s up to you to practice to get better. That’s up to you how much you practice.
@yafu25996 жыл бұрын
@@DUBSmb So much this, most drivers have so little throttle control in games that they basically can't even drive in a tight circle consistently, it's either all off or pedal to the metal. My advice would be to just drive round those circles maintaining speed and constant distance from the barriers (i.e drive in circles not wonky ovals) until you are consistent, don't even try to drift. Then add a bit of throttle now and then till the back end kicks out, even then don't go for the big drift, just give it a little kick, then bring the car back under control, this is the key part, learning to maintain the control. A couple of little kicks per circle and more practice and you'll find the little kicks getting longer and longer as you manage the control of the car, until suddenly you've surprised yourself and completed a full circle while drifting At this point you'll promptly lose it to a spin, and then have to spend a few more hours practising trying to recreate what you did. Once you do you'll be drifting like a boss. One tip: [some] people find using the R-Stick (Up Acc/Down brake) rather than the R-Trigger better for finer throttle control.

great tutorial, one tip i have is for anybody who’s trying to learn who sees this comment, and this is just my opinion based on experience; use simulation steering. simulation steering gives you much more snappy steering feedback and I think that makes it easier to swing out of the car and get better angles. it makes it slightly more difficult to straighten out after a drift but you’ll get used to it.
@Truenkyy3 жыл бұрын
Yes same, but for people who are new, i would say normal steering, bc of that snap. If they have now a drift going, and countersteer/chainging direction, that snap maybe span them out, and its a lot easier to control your car with normal steering. So for beginners, *i* would say normal steering
@jmshkm3 жыл бұрын

NBFGTA4 gearing is also important you need as much power in the gear but you don’t want to keep hitting red line and reving it
@yafu25996 жыл бұрын
Sport Tires (less grip)/Drift Suspension/RWD/Engine in the front :drive distribution needs to be in the rear, and the weight at the front Everything else is preference. Drifting is about car control, throttle and steering balance creating a controlled slide, tuning is secondary. As far as I can tell the biggest differences in the suspension are greater Front Caster and more front toe which roughly equates to increased stability and decreased responsiveness, i.e the car isn't as "twitchy" As was said in the video, lengthening your gears can also help, as you're not putting the power in so aggressively, but again that's down to preference/engine/car. Just about the only absolute I can think of is never use FWD to drift, sure you can chuck the back end out with the e-brake, but the FWD will pull it back into line as soon as you apply any throttle.

when drifting around the circle, is it ok to keep steering left to right even tho I am just driving in clockwise?
@ChrisOfChin4 жыл бұрын
The goal of drifting is that you control how much you turn inwards via throttle and counter steer the opposite direction to control the angle as you can see by his steering wheel in the telemetry. That’s why when you see cars drifting, the front wheels are always turned away from the corner. Basically the front wheels should be going around the circle almost parallel to the circle. It’s honestly a lot easier to try to get a feel for it in a roundabout as opposed to that tiny little circle he shows. If you ever need to turn your car more inwards to the corner because you’re under steering and straightening up/losing the angle, you should just apply more of the throttle or you can fan the e-brake a little, and if you’re over steering and about to spin out or approach spinning out, you ease off the throttle (or completely release if you’re super close to spinning out) and countersteer opposite to the corner direction. You can move the wheel left/right and maintain a proper drift but it makes your drift look and feel a lot less smooth as the angle is constantly changing, as opposed to one smooth angle that increases/decreases as you increase/decrease the throttle. That’s why you can maintain a drift angle for so long, holding the gas in just the right rev for the corner means you won’t need to make these minor adjustments turning left and right over and over.

A tip, Some supercars are not benefit for drifting. And it could be your settings, if your on automatic. You need to put it on Manual or Manual with clutch, because you get more control when drifting. And turn of traction control aswell. Another could be the weather since Britain has the four seasons, it could be winter. And the last one could be your tune of the car. Nake your Car Pressure go to 0.15 (rear) and Make your (Front) go 27.5, If this works, no worries if it doesnt sorry. I'm just tryna help.
