You are right! A few years ago I did not really play a lot of racing games, I was playing The Crew and decided to buy Forza Horizon 3. I loved everything about it and spent a lot of time on it. I remembered about The Crew and tried it again... only to uninstall it after a few minutes. Handling was horrible but I could have forced myself to finish it, the one thing worse than de handling that made me uninstall was the sound, the cars sounded awful and nothing like they should, Forza taught me just how important the car sounds were.

the AE86 in Forza horizon 4 uses the same sound as the mini cooper which was laughable. IMO so far the best AE86 sounds we have are Assetto Corsa's AE86 and GT Sport's AE86.

Only problem I have with the sounds in fh5 is that torque converter automatics, sequentials, and dual clutch transmissions all shift the same way. Like listening to a Dodge hellcat accelerate hard and change gears is not the same in game even if the engine sounds are perfect

I just hope the gear shifting sound is addressed as well, especially in cars with a zf gearbox. I sort of missed it from previous games.

@@blue-raptor4017 (I'm kinda noob in the car world) Take for example a 2021 f-type jag or a alfa giulia quadrifoglio (the Zf is a brand of automatic gearboxes and these cars have them) and listen to the sound they make when they shift. As well as the golfs have the dsg "fart" the zf has its sound, and I think it's pretty good.

Well if the recording of that 330D inline-6 straight piped is put onto an ingame car which ISNT a diesel version in game, there is something wrong in the head of the whole forza crew :-)
