Forza Horizon 5 - The King Of FWDs | Honda Civic Type R EK9 (A-Class)

The FWD Racing Slicks 1997 Honda CIvic Type R is probably one of the best FWD cars in Forza Horizon 5. Top 3 for sure. The EK9 Civic is no stranger as being one of the best FWD. In previous installments such as FH4 and Forza Motorsport 7, it is one of the strongest FWD and it carries on in FH5. Showcasing the EK9 Racing Slicks in Online Horizon Open Races.

Downside to FWDs is they have weak launch. So you are usually at the back of the pack everytime and you will need to fight your way through with VTEC power and cornering speed.

Honda Civic Type R EK9 A-Class performance review:
As what you expect from FWD racing slicks build. Extremely weak launch, amazing at corners. VTEC cars have decent overall acceleration once it get past the launch phase. The 7 speed transmission should ensure you are always within the VTEC range.
Honestly apart from the weak launch, the EK9 is a great car that has acceleration, handling and top speed. Once you adjust how FWD handles, the EK9 will reward you.

Surprisingly it applies to NFS Heat as well, on the S2K that is. Slap Single Turbo mated with 8 speed, and it works really well when it comes to acceleration. The short gears keeps it on higher revs, helping the Turbo to keep on spooling to its maximum psi.

Recently, I began emulating your driving style (but with a controller) by driving safe/normal while just letting everyone else make the mistakes. This has proved to be a winning strategy. I have easily either won or podiumed my last 10-15 online races. I didn't realize how much time I was losing by being aggressive.

@@zerou24 A class is the most cancer category atm because of that, when I dont play Bone shaker, i'm just on par with decent bone skaker users. Issue is that they're faster on straight and even on curve they just dont know how to drive. What does it mean ? Ram ram ram and ram. I dont have this problem while using my bone shaker cuz they cant even keep up with my pace for more than 2 curves. It's a clown car played by clowns I dont even know how they can crash in every corners.

Not trying to downplay horizon I absolutely adore the game and I rarely play with no headphones anyway but IMO on the laptop speaker the voices and ground noise far overpower the car sounds. I'mma try it with a decent speaker that we use for background music in the apartment though maybe the car sound is filtered out my brother told me something about laptops having weak bass ability and that cars are mostly in that range for sound I'm not sure it that's correct either though just food for thought.

I'm with you on that one! In fact the Civics are my favorite to drive of all of the front wheel drives. They just corner, and corner and corner. I'm constantly impressed at just how well they can take right twists and turns without losing speed like other cars, even Mets cars seem to do. If you drive them safe instead of aggressive, just race your best race, forgetting about the other drivers, these cars will carry you to wins.

@@fargomonkey5133 dude I absolutely dominate in B classic with an ek9, but always seem to get 4-6 with another tune for A class. I have an integra though that has so much downforce and cornering like it’s not the fastest in straights but I’ve dominated cars in circuits especially. Also the CRX in b class with 210kmh max speed but it can like 200 thru corners.

Anybody still using AWD swaps and complaining about drivetrains is a complete noob. If only people figured how easy this game is to handle and how fun it is to be competitive, online would be a better place. Sadly majority of the player base don't know what they're missing.

This car has to be kicked it's too op, too fast on straights, at launch, on curves and it's impossible to crash it even with a random tune (unless being a monkey, sorry to 97% of bone shaker users). Overall they are just terrible like in this video

Fun fact about fwd in forza horizon 5 is theyre undriveable when you take off abs, with the exception of the ford focus rs '17 which is awd and still manages to be undriveable with abs off mainly because its coded like a fwd car

@acktually aintaddingup i love it how immidiately im being judged for my level of skill for locking up 1 wheel, literally 1 wheel and theres nothing i can do to stop it, basically just take a honda civic type R 2018 in the game and take it around a track with sharp turns and try breaking and turning sloghtly either left or right with abs off, it doesnt matter if you feather the brakes or not 1 wheeel will always lock up causing you to miss breaking points, has been an issue since launch, in fh4 it was fine there was no problem and every single forza horizon before that didnt have a problem, so how come this game is the only game that has a problem with fwd cars not breaking properly, and its always the dam front tire locking up

I have mine tuned for B class Road, but it's got the 6-speed race trans. Should I be tuning it for a long 1st gear similar to how you did for the 7-speed? Stock engine, if that matters.

Since B-Class top speed is low in general, you don't really need a tall first gear to stretch the rest of the gears as tall as possible.

Easily one of the best things PG did tbh. Now there's a proper reason to have different Drive Trains I noticed FWD Hot Hatches are great with some proper rubber and maybe some weight reduction, they're so nimble and easy to control. Sometimes the liftoff oversteer helps a lot too specially with the people who seem to be obsessed with AWD, can make you take off of a corner pretty easy
