I upgraded the s2k in fh5 and the exhaust sounds arent different depending on which one u pick. maybe its different on the s2k cr?

Yes I noticed the s2000 has like the best vtec crossover in fh5. And it sucks man, I own an 05 rsx-s irl and fh5 is my first forza game, and ofc the rsx doesn’t have vtec 😭😭😭

VTEC DOES exists in Horizon 5. It's more noticeable in first person view, and you can observe it kicking in by opening the telemetry and looking at the jump in power. And if the kiddies are still not convinced, VTEC in Horizon 5 will only be more obvious when certain engine upgrades are applied (i.e. Street Intake, stock exhaust, etc) On a side note, Horizon 5 car sounds are most enjoyable in First Person View. But a long way to go. On another side note, I just wish they don't include transmission whine when upgrading to Sports Transmission. The transmission whine should ONLY be included in RACE Transmission. I want to listen to my engine roar without the annoying whines, 'realism' be damned.

@Timmy The Seal Honestly, I won't defend the developers on this issue. There's been a lot of debate and comparisons, as seen on this KZbin Channel, on the sounds of Forza. While most of the car sounds are better and clearer in the previous Horizon Games, the developers chose to go on a different path in recording the car sounds in Horizon 5 In an attempt to simulate the car having a proper load while accelerating as compared to recording them on a dyno like they did in the past. They wanted to try something new, which has the community divided in their opinions on the new sounds as they may not sound as clear as the old Horizon games since they have the sound of the environment included in them. It's a hit and miss as some cars sound great at all camera views while others may sound great interior sound wise but bad exterior sound wise and vice versa. What I can say from all of this is that every Forza Horizon is a test stand for the development of the next Forza game in general, and we can only continue to provide criticism and feedback and their response will give us an indication of the future of the franchise in general. At the moment, the Porsche 918 Spyder and Pagani Zonda Cinque have a sound update, both of which are an improvement. All we can do is continue to provide our feedback and criticisms.

vtec is unfortunately the one thing that's hard to pull off with granular synth, since the grains fade into each other, causing vtec to not be heard when it goes up through the rpm slowly enough

At about 14:18 you can hear the S2K CR has vtec in FH5. It's at about 6k RPM. only in third person though.

The VTEC crossover on an S2000 CR in FH5 is spot on to a real AP2, especially when you shift right before the fuel cut and it falls out of VTEC in 2nd gear. It does the same exact thing in my stock AP2 with the air box off.

All the VTEC-Equipped cars in FH5 have an audible crossover (except the NSXs), but only when you floor it for some reason. IDK why. I prefer a sharper crossover.

Forza horizon 5 has some amazing new car sounds but they neeed to improve a few things imo. Vtec crossover as demonstrated, turbo spool and loud blow offs, maybe abit more realistic exhaust crackles for cars like rs6s, c63s, m5s etc

I really wish they would allow us to choose from multiple different options for each part similar to how the body kit pieces are for some cars. There's always positives and negatives between mods from different manufacturers. Would probably take entirely too long to make it properly and not screw it up though.

If you want to get technical. In real life when tuned ect. Vtec should have a smooth crossover and not such a dramatic crossover. Does sound good to have an aggressive crossover.

I think the reason there’s little to no crossover in Forza horizon 5 is because VTech is way slower these days, a base model Camaro would absolutely gap a slightly tuned VTEC from a s2000

Take this how you want it but the 2016 type r, 2016 grc, and 2018 type r don’t have valve lift in the real world so there is no crossover at all. Not sure what crossover you would even be hearing for the 2018 type r

In FH% the Honda S2000 and S2000CR have a very hard crossover in first person and a soft one in hood view and third person, but ONLY IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR, higher gears have no crossover, wtf are the devs doing?

Horizon 4 definitely is better than 5 for the crossover. The prelude in in 4 has the best crossover. They need to bring back the del sol and coupe SI's from motorsport 4 and bring back the Honda Accord V6 and Acura cl type s along with add Acura tl type s
