I’d highly suggest anyone looking at one of these to consider the upgrade BT20A Pro. The Pro has a couple more features- pre amp out and neutral notches for the tone controls- but the biggest upgrade is the sound quality. This unit is fine for shop use or maybe running some outdoor speakers but I wouldn’t use it for ‘serious’ listening. The sound out of this model is a bit lean and very forward. Nothing has any depth and the soundstage won’t extend beyond the edges of your speakers. This model uses a TI 3116 amp. The BT20A Pro uses the TI 3255 chipset. Not only do you get (a lot) more power but the sound is much closer to what you’d expect from a quality class AB amp. Singers are no longer in your face and the whole soundstage sounds a lot broader with more depth. The leanness is gone and while I wouldn’t call the sound ‘warm’ it’s definitely a lot more neutral than the non-pro. I’ve had both and even use one of Fosi’s V3 units for desktop use when paired with a Topping DX1 DAC.

Almost upgraded to the pro, went with the tb10d and a wiim instead. I moved the bt20 to my desk with an su-1 to use on my PC. It's where it belongs.

Bought itlast week cause i sold my active speakers to downgrade to some passive speakers that i had laying in my house... Pretty nice device, only thing i'm thinking that it might of have woulda been a clipping limiter , cause at one point when you go towards max volune you can clearly hear distorsion.

if i connect a TV to the BT20A using the RCA cables. what happens if i try to pair with bluetooth with my phone? , is there a switch to choose between RCA and bluetooth?
@vynyly7 ай бұрын
Switching between RCA and Bluetooth is done automatically on this model, with Bluetooth signal being the priority. If no Bluetooth signal is found, then the RCA signal will be used.

@@vynyly that sounds simple enough , thank you very much! :)

Could you state the ohm and power rating (RMS) of your speakers please? If you did in the video, I missed it. I am currently having a conversation with Fosi about adequate power related to the BT20A. This info would help.

My speakers are an older pair of Boston Acoustics Voyager Pro. 8 ohm. 125 watts per channel. That's the best info I could find on them.

@@vynyly Thanks, this is helpful. Fosi is telling me the BT20A could have trouble driving my set of 50W RMS speakers. If it drives your 125's (or used to drive - I believe you've upgraded since then, correct?), I'm not sure why it would have difficulty driving my 50's. They have suggested the BT20A Pro, but I don't like the idea of having that much overhead. Thanks for this.

I have used both the BT20A and the BT20A Pro with these speakers. Pretty long cable run too. probably around 50 ft.

@@vynyly Any significant difference between the two amps and the same speakers? Other than volume? For my application, I don't need it to get really loud; I'd say "medium" level loudness, admitting that this is a relative/subjective statement. It's not a dance party application, if you know what I mean - simply some decent sound on a back patio where we will be sitting within 8 - 12 feet of the speakers most of the time.

I don't hear any difference at the levels I use. I honestly have never tried to max them out. I mainly like the Pro because of the additional connection I can make to my older amp that doesn't have bluetooth.

Hi, does it support AptX?

As far as I can tell, the BT20a Pro supports AAC and SBC only.
