I have been waiting for this review ever since i watched your ds1 review and while thinking of buying i saw the ds2 in the fosi website!!! And it literally had no review so i jat to wait for 6 months for this and finally ☺️

I leave mine out of my pocket too. Especially on a mega sized phone like the Samsung S23 Ultra (which fills the entire height and width of my front jeans pocket). Literally no room for a dongle dac. I wouldnt want them in the same pocket anyway. One day, I will mod the key pocket in my jeans to just pull a usbc cable through and have the Fosi in the key pocket with the HP outs facing out of the pocket. When, oh when will someone create a 'pocketable' dongle dac where both usbc and HP outs both come out the top so that we can shove it downwards in a pocket!!

So DS2 is more detailed and DS1 is wamrer? Would you recommend one over the other? Also battery drain on a smartphone, what was your experience?

The battery is minimal I got hours but this depends on your device battery and what you're driving, it will be much less with full size headphones I personally like the DS1 for most applications

Another Type C USB DAC that comes with High(3.8v)-Low(1.8v) gain button/slider is JCALLY AP10. Currently sold at around the same price with the newly launched MOONDROP Dawn Pro (no High-Low gain button/slider). Both sport Dual CS43131 chip.

Is it better than ds1? Should i go for this one as it is cheaper or just go for ds1? Is ds2 an upgrade over ds1

Side grade , it does have a similar sound profile but pumps out more power and details

Excuse me. May I ask how is the condition of your DS2 after these few months? Is it still functioning normally and in good condition? I am interested in buying it because there is a distributor who brings it to my country.

Both my DS1 and DS2 are working like new , no problems at all.

Most of the budget MP3 should have a EQ to adjust bass to your liking. My favorite little player is the Hidizs AP80
