Late to this but to answer the QOTD things No, if it's done right. For example, if it puts me against a boss that is known to be incredibly strong, then I don't think it's bad, because it shows that you WILL have a challenge later in the game that you need to prepare for. Like Frigi in Fossil Fighters. That first initial loss showed that Frigi is going to be a tough opponent, and that you need to prepare for it Sometimes it can get irritating if it doesn't have any bearing on the plot. I prefer to have it as something that foreshadows a strong future opponent because it gives an intimidation factor

QTD: Only if it's obvious because being in a forced loss is annoying but being in a forced loss that you could have obviously won is even more annoying

the fossil fighters game i remember playing doesn't resemble any of the ones tripmon has played now im questioning if it was a fossil fighter game (i do remember the word vivosaur was used in it)

I prefer the first 2 games the third game is what i think killed the series but I hope Fossil Fighters makes a return for the switch

Personally I find them very frustrating. I'd say if it's unbeatable, then don't even go into a battle sequence with the enemy at that time. I mean, I get the concept of "hey, this is a really powerful opponent. Too powerful for you at this moment in fact." But, I find the work around could be like having a buddy take the fall and you escape to fight another day and get more powerful to take the enemy later on. That, or making it explicitly clear that there is no way to win. My experience with "unwinnable" battles is typically not realizing it and wasting items.

when you weren't fighting while driving a dune buggie, yes. "gears" just fit the Auto-fusion theme better for Game #3. might return to Medals if they ever make #4. God, I wish for FF4 PLEASE! Duna return/Cameo as well! TY!

"force-loss" fights are a standard trope of some RPGs that I love, but The timing and execution in the story can change the tone of the game. For example, in a few versions of pokemon main games, you always lose the first rival fight, as an introductory, but you get healed after so no qualms. however, if you get an opportunity to grind things out, and reach a "force-loss" it can really damper your experience.

So I actually went back and, after a ton of grinding, I got Lophus MN up to level 10 and actually managed to beat the Gorgo, however it has no impact on the story and it still seems as if you lost unfortunately

About to get this game for Christmas, any tips, comments, or additional Info? Is it fun man? Is it worth it? Is it beyond annoying since the Dinos are somewhat changed from the actual Dinos they're based off of? Or more fun? Thanks! Any other Info would be appreciated!!!!
