I'm loving the new microscope, too. Do you display the tiny fossils? Funny, I never thought of fossils to be that small. You have expanded my thinking, Sir.

Wow, looking at the forams under the microscope was so cool and when you can find and see something as small as a fish ear bone, that is amazing! Im loving the new microscope too! Its incredible the pictures you can get with it now! And the crab you picked up, that was already partially exposed from the tide, and had those colors on it was so cool!. that a fun one to leave as is! So much good stuff around! And when you can get excited over a crab, after all the crabs you have done, is amazing! Your love and passion for the work you are doing is so infectious! I love fossils and to see you have the patience and skill to slowly chip away at these fossils in these big concrete prison that they have been in for millions of years, is breath taking! You are amazing! Thank you and don't get too lost in that micro world. There is a penguin counting on you to set it free!

Foraminifera are very useful for biostratigraphy. I live in an area with a lot of Carboniferous fossils and I’m planning to prep a bunch of limestone and shale I’ve collected to look for conodonts.
@MamlamboFossils2 жыл бұрын
Very cool! Conodonts are found in one or two places in New Zealand and I would LOVE to find one myself!

HI! You crossed my my the other day, hadn't kept up, Sorry to hear you were sick. The BEACH Always does One Good! Oh, Love those Crabs!! Cool Microscope, used them at work. I'm jealous, tiny creatures are a favorite. @ 2:44 > to *Left, What's that Rock* with 'scales'? 8 ) look of 'Palm' trunk, Large Armadillo, Glyptodon [prehistoric] or Macroeuphractus - Carnivorous Armadillo or .... (dinosaur with scaled ball at tail end) - Euoplocephalus - in Canada. {{sigh}} search found - 'Moeraki boulders', Nope. This is Different. Glyptodon?? =\
@loganstrong98742 жыл бұрын
Rock with Scales was a crab ,or what was left of the carapace .Mambo is mostly looking at Miocene site's. New Zealand fossil sites are mostly marine and Miocene .New Zealand has had only about eleven dinosaur bones found ,most from the Chatham islands off New Zealand. The dinosaur bones have being single fragments only .

That's a septarian type concretion, the cracks get filled in with calcite,it does look like something prehistoric. Thanks for the awesome comment Karen!!

Sounds like sandstone? People find bits of ocean bottom all the time so it could be!
