I won't lie, i wasn't crazy about this track at first. I think it was the melody shift towards the end that really hooked me. And then i started paying attention to the lyrics. Now I'm straight up addicted. They really transformed some generic hard dance track into something incredible.

If you know FTP you know what their philosoophy about the industry and music is. The last album was literally about this, saying they don't want to be split by genre, or limited or have to answer to industry guidelines. I appreciate the change! Art isn't stagnant people

Why do I get the impression from several (not all) comments that many people aren't paying attention to the meaning of the lyrics? He's lacing things going on in society that are not ideal and then questioning, where's the love? He's using hyperbole for effect and juxtaposing yin and yang ideas. The title of the song: Two addicts that professed to love each other but died young and violently-no loyalty to each other, drugs were their first loves. Deep stuff in the lyrics to ponder. Excellent job as always Mark F!👍💘

This is revolutionary, they have been only improving and finding themselves. This third album if not well received by the fans, but will most definitely will be a critical masterpiece. This is the most progressive and artistic they have been in terms of their sound in their career so far. The electronica component of their music has been tweaked a little more than usual with elements of dance punk and an ambitious progression. I'm a very happy FTP fan today.

They're artists. They got new influences in the last couple of years and they evolved. That's what artists do. As long as they don't lose their FTP characteristic, they're still being genuine about their craft. They're not your robots, they're people with passion to explore. If you don't like the new concept, you can just stop listening to their new sounds. But don't expect them to redo the same old stuff just for the sake of being "safe", because people will scold them for overdoing the old songs anyways. Artists grow, and yes, we have our right to disagree. But don't limit their room/freedom to experiment. If you're a fan, be supportive of their creative decisions. Damn.

@PNTDKTTN after the first time I thought it was good, the second time it was great, the third time I really started to emotionally connect to it .by the fourth time the some became spiritual. It was about god.im not religious or Christian but Mark foster is one of the many voices on this planet that speak for god, angels,God, higher spiritually developed beings. If u listen to his messages and really listen to his music, the instrumental side, u can't help but see god.im not a crazed fan obsessed with him.i simply hear every part of a song and see everything the artists were trying to do. Their canvas, the instruments, their paint brush, their voices. I love music but never learned anything but flute in middle school.now at age 39 I want to make music and silversmith jewelry. I was addicted to pills.they r prescribed to me but I'm on methadone and have been since 2007.im a waste of life if I didn't have my 2 girls. I'm a skitsofrenic as well and that started 3 1/2 months after my 56 year old mother hung herself. Who knew u could get a disease from severe grief. Yup as if what happened wasn't bad enough, WAM!!!!! I go full blown skitzo. I'm still not convinced 100% that I'm not just a psychic and talking to the dead.the dead talk using telepathy and that's how psychics talked to them. Psychics r rare.the spirit that is emotionally attached to me has lied and hurt me and made me fall in love with her under false pretenses.my fault.im gullable.but I really fell in love with her,I'm a girl. And I'm straight. But she used a male voice and pretended to be mt soulmate that was male and deceased for years and he was searching for me and he showed me what he looked like in my head and it wasn't real but I didn't know anybetter. All I wanted was my soulmate.that whole concept of a divine counterpart.someone made by God for u but u mostly don't grow enough spiritually in love inside u till you have changed your soul enough and that doesn't happen while ur on earth.its rare.maybe Jesus did it. Ghandi. But when u die life continues.

For the older fans that are distressed, I'd recommend you guys re-listen to (and re-read) the lyrics and the way he's singing them. These guys are doing some great stuff on this new record, so try not to attach the stigma of Torches FTP, just enjoy that they're being creative again and take the music for what it is. That's called being open! They're creating something that they've never made before and it's maturing their sound imo

It took me 3 years to realize that the lyrics were actually calling out police brutality. This was made around the time of the death of Eric Garner and his last words were the same as this song’s hook. Fast forward to today and we are still dealing with police brutality with the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and more. As Mark said in the song “Where’s the love?”

I actually love the last minute and a half of this song, the sound and lyrics are beautiful, and it compliments the beginning, darker sounding tune really well. Amazing work, FTP.
