I actually 100% agree about the Fog of Love tutorial. When we played, we found the tutorial pretty confusing and ended up following Rodney's How to Play video and that was MUCH better!

Playing Bohnanza at 2 is just criminal. I don't like negotiation either, but with Bohnanza, it's VERY clear what you need and what others need. Not everyone will be vying for the beans up for grabs each turn. Best at 7 imo!!!!

Adventures of Robin Hood is on my SoS, too. Glad to hear it's so easy to jump into; we'll have to get that one played. Decorum just did not click for me at all. So many people rave about it, and I expected to love it, but even when we were finishing scenarios successfully, I wasn't enjoying it. Turns out not every single game is for every single person I guess.

Jamie, get loop earplugs for the overstimulation/ noise sensitivity. They are amazing. They have some that just block out background noise and allow you to concentrate on conversation.. i use them all the time. They have three levels of noise blockage. And they are super comfortable and cute.

lol my first play of TMB was over on day three. We got CRUSHED. Haven't lost since, including some crazy "there's no way we can possibly win this" battles that took . . . someone who is a lot better than me to play heroball. A game played entirely on a 4x4 grid has no business being so fun, but we're all glad that it is!

Yes definitely play Bohnanza with a group so you can trade! I'm not really a fan of negotiation games either but it is so so fun. Also so excited to hear the positive review of Gates of Loyang! I've been really curious about that game. Very impressed with how many new games y'all got played this month!

Decorum really relies on players understanding the three communication options. Wife had trouble making sure to use the right one in the proper way. Does Mosaic have alternate two player setup to make it quicker? I don't remember, but we didn't find our game as long.

The only two on this list I've played are Mosaic and Loyang. Love Loyang! Not my favorite Rosenberg but pretty high up there. Mosaic I pretty much agree with your assessment. Good mechanics but WAY too long. It needs those decks of cards thinned drastically. It's a nightmare to set up as well.

Agreed on both points. Jamie sets up games usually but the amount of space it took was bonkers. And yea, so so many cards to grind through

Mosaic: in addition to moving the Empire Scoring cards up in the deck, you can also try playing with 8 each of the Golden Age and Achievement tiles, instead of 9, since those (and Wonders) are the alternative game clock. They get taken a lot faster when there's more players vying for them.

Also, strong recommend for slightly faster setup: put the resource tokens in a bag, shake it up, and then draw tokens one by one. If you draw an X, put it aside and skip that spot on the map. I find this much better than the rulebook's method of shuffling every token facedown, putting them all out, flipping them all over, and removing the X tokens.

I would love to hear your guys opinions on another Uwe classic, Fields of Arle. It's a game that can be played solo or 2 player only. I like Caverna, but this one, in my opinion, is somewhat better. Enjoying the content! 👍

So glad you guys ended up liking 'Too Many Bones'! My wife and I tried 'Fog of Love' and did the tutorial - had the same experience and packed it up half-way through and never pulled it off the shelf again. Wondering if I should watch some videos on how to play and give it another try. Also, 'Bad Company' has always kind of interested me, so I am looking for a preowned copy. Thanks for the vid!

I love Mosaic- disclaimer I just have the retail edition. I would just make sure you had the game setup correctly for 2 players- my first play we didn't have the correct setup and thought it was a too long but realized we set it up incorrectly. In two players, you don't play with two of the regions. Have less of the certain number of cards per stack and the different stacks for achievements, golden ages and wonders you play with less of those as well.

@@FostertheMeeple also the designer has recommended as you proposed if the game is too long to put those empire scoring cards higher in the deck. So definitely something to try out again - always reassuring when the designer has proposed a house rule/variant.

Team Jaime. Space base over bad company. I liked it but it was like space base with a bunch of extra stuff and I did not like the number upgrades because it wasn’t like a market I upgraded my 6 and 7 super cheap and got railroaded to upgrade my 12. Too bad was expecting loyang more like loyawn, next Step is learn to love Agricola. Agree with Jeff on decorum. The hardest part can be interpreting the goal cards Hmm I might have to play this too many bones game….
