interesting adapters , well explained, but you never explain how to change the aperture using for example the rokr tilt shift for Nikon G lenses on fuji x. It's s clear and logic to me using D lenses, as they have an aperture ring, witch G lenses don't have. So is there a built in aperture ring or any tool to change the aperture ? do I will be able to see the aperture stops in the camera ?
@FotodioxInc4 жыл бұрын
Good question: all of our Nikon G lens adapters have a built-in aperture control ring set right behind where the lens mounts. And all you do is turn this lens to engage the aperture control lever in Nikon G lenses. So you have full aperture control, but the one downside is you can't see what aperture you're at since the camera and lens are not communicating--you kind of have to eyeball it.

For most Nikon lenses, yes, there's an aperture control ring on the TLT ROKR that will adjust the adapted Nikon lens's aperture. Just make sure the lenses you want to adapt are not focus by wire and you're good.

Make the ND throttle apapter for nikon f to nikon z without the ND filter! At the moment I can't use my 35mm 1.8g DX lens on my Z6 as an FX lens, which is a pretty common use case btw. I want to force the camera into FX mode when that lens is mounted but the software prohibits me from doing that. I want a simple adapter so I can use it as an FX lens but this 35mm has no manual aperture control. So the ND throttle allows manual control of the aperture, and I can force the camera to stay in FX mode but I have to stop down the lens to reduce the vignetting since it's a DX lens. So I don't want an ND filter on top of that reducing my light. I want a dumb adapter with manual aperture control. You guys were close but added a stupid ND filter. It would be a good idea if you offered a version without it.

Are there any adapters from Fuji X-mount to another lens mount? Like E-mount or EF-mount? I like Fuji lenses so much but I want to be able to use them on other cameras as well. Are there any adapters like that? Even if they don’t electronically connect?
@FotodioxInc2 жыл бұрын
Each camera system has a focal flange distance, which is the specific distance a lens needs to be mounted from the sensor or film plane of a camera to focus to infinity. Unfortunately, mirrorless camera systems have much shorter focal flange distances than DSLR camera systems, since mirrorless systems don't need as much room between the sensor and lens. This is why you can't mount a mirrorless lens, like a Fuji X-mount lens, to a DSLR mount camera like a Canon EF mount camera. The lens would not be able to focus to infinity or on anything at all. Now it is possible to adapt some mirrorless lenses to some other types of mirrorless cameras, but there's only less than a millimeter of distance between the Fuji X mount (17.7 mm) and the Sony E mount (18.00 mm) so unfortunately there's not enough space for an adapter.

Sony E mount to X mount which can retain autofocus for full frame 100-400/200-600 lenses...?
@FotodioxInc4 жыл бұрын
That would be extremely difficult to make since we'd only have less than a millimeter of space to work with. This is because the focal flange distance of Sony E-mount is 18mm, while the focal flange distance of Fuji X is just slightly slimmer at 17.7mm. So, whole there may be space for a manual adapter, there's just not enough space for an auto lens adapter.

@FotodioxInc3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that won't work, because the way native lenses and camera mounts are designed means the lens focuses perfectly to infinity when mounted flush to the camera. If you add extra space between the native lens and native camera, the lens won't be able to focus to infinity anymore and will become a macro focus only lens. This is why we can only make tilt-shift adapters for lenses that were designed for different mount cameras that had more space between the lens and the film plane/sensor. That extra space needed for the non-native lens to focus to infinity is the space we use for the adapter.

I'm not aware of any that do that. A few things to consider: 1) the stand-off distance between the lens body and imaging sensor makes mounting of SLR lenses on mirrorless bodies a fairly simple task... just add barrel length and and the right proper barb/receptacle bits. The lens's optics are already set up right. Trying to stay within-family would require optical correction since the adapter would put the lens farther away from the sensor, and that could be expensive or possibly even technologically unfeasible. 2) A full-frame lens adapted to an APSC body will almost always have enough image circle to allow for a pretty significant shift - it should be about twice as wide as the sensor, maybe even more. An APSC lens on an adapter to APSC body - in almost all cases - would have an image circle that just barely outsizes the sensor. So shifting off-center would quickly pull in vignetting and even bring the lens barrel wall into frame unless there's additional optics involved (basically the opposite of a speed-booster - image circle would have to be blown up rather than shrunken) 3) There are some amazing lenses available on the used market in those other families, but just remember it's a "dumb" adapter in that electronics connections are not present. So manual lenses or at least mechnically over-ride-able lenses would be needed. That's probably another reason why there is no x-to-x adapter. Almost all x-mount lenses require electronic interfacing with the body. 4) I was a little disappointed to find out this adapter doesn't allow for rotation of the tilt axis relative to the shift axis. The whole adapter can rotate (and has 16 lock positions as it does) but as far as I can tell, if it's shifting left/right it'll tilt up or down and if it's shifting up/down it'll tile left or right. That works find for most imaginable use cases but it would be more fun and more versatile if those tilting and shifting axes could be freely rotated independently. All that said, I got myself one a few weeks ago (the nikon f-mount version) with a distagon 25mm and I've been thrilled with what it can do.

Hi This video is useful, however I am looking for an adapter to fix my Nikon FX format 19mm shift lens to Fujifilm XT3. I want the 19mm image to be uncropped (or to get the full frame image of the lens on the APS sensor of the camera) Your advice is appreciated Thanks

How do I use my fuji x lenses on a canon or Nikon cameras?
@FotodioxInc4 жыл бұрын
Currently we don't offer any Fuji X lens to Canon or Nikon camera adapters. This is because the Fujifilm X-mount has a 17.7 mm focal flange distance, while Canon EF has a 44mm, Canon RF has a 20mm, and Nikon F has a 46.50 mm focal flange distance. So because the Fuji X flange distance is shorter, you can't adapt it to those camera mounts and maintain infinity focus. The only Nikon camera mount that has a shorter focal flange distance than Fuji X is Nikon's mirrorless Nikon Z system, which is 16 mm, but we don't currently make a Fuji X to Nikon Z adapter.

Some of your coolest adapters aren’t compatible with M42 which is a real shame
@FotodioxInc3 жыл бұрын
You can always double stack adapters. For instance, if you want to use our ND Throttle adapter with an M42 lens, just get a Nikon to Fuji X ND Throttle adapter, and then get an M42 to Nikon adapter and mount that on the front of the ND Throttle so you can mount an M42 lens on it.

Can I adapt a Nikon lens to a Nikon camera using a tilt-shift adapter? I just want to add the functionality.
@FotodioxInc3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, because when you put space between a native lens and a native camera, you lose the ability to focus to infinity and the lens becomes a macro only lens.

Fotodiox Inc thanks! I think few users would buy it, BUT is in the pratice is an EF mount with minor differences. Some japanese guy modded a SD Quattro with a EF mount. Even a Sa-to RF mount would be an easy adapter, technically near to a EF-RF
@jolladevices4 жыл бұрын
@@FotodioxInc Last but not least, the EF to Sa-mount (allow to use Canon EF lens on Sigma cameras) is probably the easier to design due to the similarities between the mounts. A similar adapter would allow to Sigma SD1 Merril and Sd Quattro to use Canon EF lens. I am literaly preordering one!

Im looking for a x mount to sony e mount but i can't find any
@FotodioxInc4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that won't work because FUJI X-mount lenses have a 17.7 mm focal flange distance, while Sony E-mount has an 18 mm focal flange distance, so the FUJI X lenses don't have long enough focal flange distances to adapt to a Sony E-mount camera and maintain infinity focus.

Is Canon RF to Fuji X in the works or are there technical limitations?
@FotodioxInc4 жыл бұрын
We generally don't make adapters to go from one mirrorless system to another, simply because most mirrorless systems have extremely short focal flanges that don't differ enough to give us room to put an adapter with electronic communication pins. one notable exception is our Micro 4/3 to Sony E-mount adapter, but it only works with manual only Micro 4/3 lenses.

is it possible to mount a Sony E-Mount to a Fujifilm? is there any adapter in existence or is there no way it can be done?
@FotodioxInc4 жыл бұрын
It's theoretically possible, but it would have to be razor thin because there's only less than a millimeter of difference between Sony E-mount and Fuji X-mount focal flange distances, so it would have to just be a paper thin piece of metal with no room for electronics, which means it would only work with fully manual Sony E-mount lenses. As far as I can tell none exist at this time, but it's worth looking into. Maybe someone has made a 3D printed one and mentioned it on a forum somewhere.

Any adapter to turn my x mount lens into a tilt shift?
@FotodioxInc4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, because there's no extra space between a native lens and native camera to put an adapter. If you did, the lens would lose the ability to focus to infinity and become a macro focus only lens. This is why we can only adapt lenses with longer focal flange distances than the cameras we're adapting them to: the extra space the non-native lens's longer focal flange distance gives us is where we can put the adapter.

How about m4/3 to fuji x?
@FotodioxInc3 жыл бұрын
It's technically possible, but we don't currently offer one. The biggest challenge would be to fit the necessary electronics to get a Micro 4/3 lens to communicate with a Fuji camera into the narrow space needed to maintain correct focal flange distance.
