Big fan of your videos! Depending what you're filming off of, if you're worried about background noise or getting a good recording of the Pianos and Fotoplayer, I totally recommend getting the Rode GO Wireless mic. Just a simple clip on mic, one end into the camera (or phone with an adapter) and you just clip the other one onto your collar. If you want to get fancy though, you can add a lapel/lavalier onto the unit that clips onto you, looks more discrete! There are other ways you could maybe record audio but it depends what you're using to edit as it can get tricky. Happy to go into more detail if you're interested? Your channel deserves a lot more viewers too and I'd love to help give something back as I watched that series you did restoring the Fotoplayer and it was absolutely fantastic.

Wonderful! I hope my piano sounds as good as this when it's done, I might have a midi system installed as well since I write piano rolls but don't know how to cut them. Settled on a 40 note pallet valve setup but my piano is so compact it might be hard to fit. Thought about using string or rods going from the wippen of the piano action to under the keybed where I could keep the pallets and use tubes to transfer the signal to the chest which I'll probably put behind the piano for ease of access. Can't wait to see the cosmetic stuff, that's an area I need to touch up on quite a bit! Great video as always :)

The regular bellows are meant to keep the air pressure the same no matter the load. The wooden pipes likely were over blown because the bellows had too much pressure!! The original pipe feet looks like they had a slot for a piece of metal inserted that is adjustable for air flow regulation for each pipe. You could have just repaired them and would be useful for way easier pipe regulation.

The slot was not original. They were cut but an owner who was running the machine without a regulator. I agree the metal inserts make for easier voicing, but since American Photoplayer didn't do it that way I wanted to return things to the original configuration. Hence the new toes.

The suction unit and blower are in the same room as the Fotoplayer and mic. I thought the blower noise was pretty distracting.
