The big build up to an epic shot. The final click of the shutter. Gavin, in his best passionate whisper voice - “Ooooh yeees… That’s extremely average.” (Amanda laughs. Gavin joins in.) ••• Perfect moment 🤣

The thermacell is really supposed to be used when you are standing still - like at camp or at a tripod. It creates a 10ft bubble cloud around the area after about 15 minutes. ☁

As a photographer too, I feel your pain on the lighting issue. Tried to capture a waterfall today but the light was super harsh. Thankfully though after being distracted by a frog (I shoot wildlife too) a nice cloud passed over and I think I got the shot. Your tactic to wait until blue hour and capture the golden light of town worked brilliantly! I would never have thought of that. Oh and nice eating utensil, lol!

I was in a similar predicament. I was multitasking between the video, Chasing Awe and marveling at my three (3) photos just framed from the UnicornLabs once in a lifetime sale. And just to show how low my taste has gone, I rather liked the blue hour shot! I, too, have a Thermocell that straps to my leg. I was told the idea was to confuse the varmits with CO2 from the burning fuel so they can't find your head as one exhales. My experience to date has been a redirected swarm around my nether regions. Fortunately, in the woods one does not have to be so socially discreet and vigorous nether region scratching is OK. As a back up plan, I'm practicing holding my breath. Anyway, who won, the shot or the mosquitos?
