Kathy and I have been friends since we were 11 years old. We married at 18/19. (as thumbnail reveals) 42 years now and 'date' night often seems a staring contest these days..I kid. Sorta. Very sorry to hear about sweet Leo. I’ve been through the loss of many of my kitties over the years and that initial hurt never diminishes. I just lost my friend Buster on October 4th who was also 15 and also had cancer. From the time it was detected to when he passed was only about two months despited his treatments. Now Wendy and I are down to nine as we have always found new ones to rescue in one way or another. Cosmo is adorable and apparently in good hands and I know he’ll have a life full of love and happiness as he gives his in return.

Gavin, you need to teach your mrs. about wool and puffer jackets. Also one-time-use pocket warmers. It's a given on photo trips. There's no way out of it. Also a light weight bivvy bag,, like those emergency bags. it'll keep the heat properly good.

I'm sorry to hear about Leo. I have a border collie puppy (he's actually 6, but still acts like a puppy) and I'm dreading the day I'll have to say a final goodbye to him, so I'm going to make sure he has the most fun a puppy can have. I'm glad Cosmo is already bringing light back to you, Amanda, and Sterling. I hope to see him and his funny dialog in future episodes when he makes appearances.

Loved your drone shot, and sorry to hear about the passing of Leo,they certainly become a big part of our lives i think that after the cat we have taken in after my parents passed ( Muffins) and our dog , lacey, leave us, I don't know if I will have any more. Each time it's harder to say good by and our dog 🐕 has been such a big part of my everyday life, it's going to be a hard one when she goes. Cosmo should have his own You Tube show.

After that long hike up the side of that mountain i think that was a good perspective shot and is beautiful. However I would have had Amanda go stand on the pinnacle on the end of the cliff and do some kind of ballet stance. However that second shot of the cliffs and the mountain above the other mountains is KILLER!!!

Sorry for your loss. Losing a pet (especially to the evil of cancer) is definitely difficult. Also hope that Amanda feels better. Excellent video, but I must admit that I think that I saw one of the "sheep" on it's back with its feet in the air during the drone footage (check it out around the 20:20 timeframe). Now before you scan the mountainside for some little critter, I am referring to the illusion caused by the jagged peaks).

Sorry about Leo - its the price we pay for all the love and fun they give us - painful, gutting and hard at least until we start to remember the good times more than the sad. I hope you two are moving into the remembering the good times more. The photos were epic, but the light let you down. Hoping Amanda has fully recovered from her 'hypothermia' and isn't going to 'maim you' over 'date night'.

I know there is a lake a bit further North from your overnight location but I don't know if that is any good photography-wise. ANyway, Dyrholaey peninsula is really special.
