All he said the whole time was he is open and he has been working on his mental health and he has nothing to lose and is willing to work hard and keep his head down. If anything AJ during the interview was bringing up the weird shit.

It’s too early to tell. Him saying he stepped away from the game and didn’t even watch, just wanting to be hungry and earn a spot. He’s saying things that could show he’s changed, but does a tiger ever really change their stripes?

@@seanisty there’s no sugar-coating it; Tim Anderson has been the worst player in baseball for the last two years. Tim should have anticipated these questions. If anything, AJ was being nice trying to put a positive spins on these questions and trying to hype up TA7. Tim could have acknowledged his past failures and explained how he is going to get better, but instead he got angry when the obvious was pointed out - that Tim hasn’t been the same player he once was. It can be hard to hear that you aren’t performing well anymore, but you have to expect that from the media. It’s a part of being a professional ballplayer.

I thought they handled a tough interview as well as they could. They were respectful and related to his struggles in a positive fashion. Took guts to accept the interview ... plenty of people in his position would have declined.

@@Catch202I agree for the most part but they didn’t have to ask “those” questions they coulda ask where have you been how has it been more and got more specific about how going through so much in a short time can derail a career and how he’s working to get it back. I also hoped the questions would center more around the here & now. Enough talk about his past, about “the fight” or other general negative-driven questions. He’s clearly trying his best to be professional and isn’t comfortable revisiting other topics just for clicks/views. Orange County will welcome him, that I say with confidence!

Before I watched through the entire video, I dug through the video comments & agreed with a lot of the people saying that TA will bounce back. Afterrrer watching the interview, he is so sensitive to criticism! How can coaches work with him?? He's still only 31 years old but his raw talent has slipped under him now & I still hope he finds success. But dang, AJ was great on this interview because beat reporters will be more ruthless to TA.

Still love for TA7 on the Southside. Was he perfect? No. Did he deserve better? Absolutely. He and Abreu just fell off the map after leaving, and so have the Sox. Something was rotten in that clubhouse, and he has been scapegoated thanks to dog whistlers and the like.

Half of these comments are by people who have a particular ‘bias’ towards TA7 even in 2025. I will not elaborate on the undertones of why/what they’re saying lol. Anderson has been vilified by the media & by a certain demographic of fans ever since he bat-flipped in 2019. Sure, he didn’t do himself any favors by how he handled the spotlight, yet it’s not hard to understand why he may be combative in interviews. Man just wants to mind his business and move past the past-I for one hope TA7 gets it right in 2025! Go Halos!
