@2:35 there was a Square Pan Pizza restaurant my family would visit!!!

I commented about it before I saw your comment. I was just showing my wife that that’s the Square Pan Pizza place of my childhood I talk about. I’d pay 100 dollars for 2 slices and a salad served in a wood bowl from there right now.

If we can identify the newspaper issue in that news rack at 2:50, we could get an exact date at least for the last part.

Wildflowers Cafe .... is that where they made those delicious avocado sandwiches and “joy balls”?

All these people are grandparants, have jobs...or are dead. Back when OB was really cool.

Nope, nope and nope. 😉 It WAS cool, though!

I lived there in 1970 for a year. I remember walking w my brother almost daily to the beach and swimming there. I remember huge rocks and one day seeing these huge fish that made me too afraid to go in. It was awfully fun and so much safer then.

Where are all the homeless people?
@jbspore4 жыл бұрын
We called them 'hangouts' at the time.
@BrokenRRT3 жыл бұрын
Back then it was mostly Vietnam veterans with what’s now known as PTSD. I always tell my family about growing up in OB nobody was homeless unless they wanted to be.

Today they are building encampments. There’s a Bidenville in the dirt parking lot by the softball fields down from dog beach. Multiplying exponentially today. Stealing gas, leaving needles on the beach, breaking into vehicles. But they aren’t “bothering anyone” according to most people here.
