FOUND: 1986 VW Quantum Wagon. Why not try to drive it home X country?

Once again our Chief of Vehicle Acquisitions has found one of my bucket list cars. The only "problem" is the location. This car has lived its life in Idaho. I'm sure it will need some work, but I think with a little luck (and a new timing belt before the trip) we can make it on a true cross country road trip from Idaho to Maryland in a 1986 Volkswagen Quantum Wagon.

We had a Quantum wagon in the same color when I was a kid in the 80’s. It had a sunroof. Good memories. Thanks for sharing.

I almost got a B3 before I found this one. B3 was a manual! I'm glad I found a B2 because these are about gone here in the states.

Seriously 😮 WOW!! sounds like an awesome time!! I drove a 1985 Dodge 600 turbe convertible from Burlington, VT to Chattanooga for a friend who couldn't get off work. Had a BLAST!! RAINX and Berryman's B12 fuel injector cleaner are your friends

Couldn’t track MPG, no ODO for the trip. Fixed now but +2400 miles

Never heard about that model. Must be USA only, but looks very very cool and actualy with that 5 cyl Audi engine shoud be pretty nice. I was a little disapointed when saw K-jet :D

They were called Santana and Passat everywhere else. This is a MK2 Passat. We called the. Dasher for the MK1 model, finally called them a Passat with the 3rd generation
