I built your porch swing for my grandson’s house last summer. I used Douglas fir lumber, so it was heavy. I had to get my neighbor to help me load it into the pickup.

Nice table man, hickory. We had a hickory tree in my yard in Michigan growing up, relentlessly strong wood.

We were looking for a trestle table, found one at Pier 1 for $800, made it for $250.

Why not use mounting plates or figure 8 fastened on the underside of the table to attach it to the legs? Now you have dowels showing at the top of the table.
@teamvtube Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Or if you need to use dowels why not use dowel centre markers in the legs and just have the dowels go from the bottom of the table into the top of the legs?

What a beautiful table. I might try and make one for my wife for Christmas. Do you have an interesting version / modification for an end table?

Nice work! Might I suggest to avoid using any rotary style tools with long sleeves on. Very dangerous!

So in the breakdown, on the bandsaw step, is it worth trying to keep as much of the grain running the entire length of the piece of wood? It would tend to leave a triangle out of the center instead of one side as you did it. Or is that just not a consideration?

$150 of material**

Get double easily, probably triple or 4x being hickory. Chop out some designs in epoxy for the top to make it more unique you could get even more.
@spacekb17 Жыл бұрын
Don’t disagree it could pull a higher price but we’re comparing apples to oranges. Just pointing out that there was no calculation of labor or overhead in the $150 cost. It’s probably just a catchy title to help with visibility on KZbin
