Great vid. Thanks. This popped up as I've been looking into various stair stringers, etc. Just finishing up a demo of a 110-year-old concrete set of stairs. I was going to rebuild with concrete, but for various reasons, I'm going with wood. Given my engineering background, etc., I'm obsessed with DIY++ on my own place. I'm a complete shite carpenter, and I love working alone. Thankfully, I have some friends who are great carpenters whom I call once I get something mocked up - they won't touch electrical, so we can always trade off as that's my wheelhouse. I love your 'picture frame' tread design as well as the "simple" elegance of the entire project. Now, subbed, and look forward to your other videos. This one is excellent, concise, and well-edited/produced. I know the effort this takes, and I very much appreciate it. Ed: I'm with ya all the way, except I'm a Thorogood boots guy, but, hey, we can't all be perfect. :)

The corners 🤦 when there's a cut piece going into the corner the remainder of that piece should go on the other side of the corner. And those slivers up at the ceiling??? You're fired 😂

I love your creative projects and how you come up with solutions to problems. I learned a lot from you. It is great that you can do that. I spend my time earning thousands so I can have someone else do jobs I cannot/don't want to do. The way I look at it, someone gets paid well to do a job they like, I spend my time doing small woodworking/other jobs which I like and know how to do. Everybody is happy. Keep up the good work :)

What was the width and thickness of the main door casing and what size was the wood you used for the stopper so when the door shut, you can have the insulation meet up at the door?

That shutoff valve is a compression fitting. Also you should remove that flange and set a new one on top of the tile.

Excellent video Tyler! Details are king! Nowhere except your video shows how to cut the cover cap with a chop. Best I caught was a mention to use a piece of wood aside which for some reason I could not visualize. Your video had the missing link and it was a pure ahaa moment. Currently installing the kit and about to head out to add the covers afraid to shatter the stock.

For products used outdoors, will the service life of wood be very short? I have no idea about it. What happens if aluminum alloy is used?

Great video and idea as to building a ballast box but just a little FYI , You used fibre mesh in your mix so there would be now need for chicken wire as the fibres give it structual strength as well if you use form oil your form would have come apart a lott easier with no deformation of your concrete. Concrete reaches 70-75% strength after 7 days . over all a great build will be doing this shortly thanks for the video

Really helpful that you actually show your work after explaining, using the mallet and nailer on video. I haven't found many videos that actually show how to get slightly bent boards into place, even though everyone says they are a part of every carton.
