My fiancée, Christie Barlament, told me that she wanted to go on a “Sunday Adventure” this morning… so I gave her a good one! 🤣
We started out at noon, at the Hwy W bridge (Porterfield, WI) and hopped into the Peshtigo River. This was my first time making this cleanup trip, so I had NO idea how long it took to float to “Black Bridge”.
3 1/2 hours later, we arrived to our destination with a BUNCH of stuff that didn’t belong underwater!
Although, we didn’t find any cell phones or electronic watches (for a first time!), we did find several bottles, aluminum cans, rusty metal, plastic, clothes, a skateboard and more! My most favorite find of the day was the blue bottle! I’ve been diving for 6 years now and this was the FIRST fully-intact blue bottle that I found! Silent J found 2 blue medicine bottles up in Niagara, WI recently (within a few minutes apart)! 😳
We only brought 1 vehicle, so we thought we’d suck it up and walk back to my truck after our dive. What I didn’t know, was that it was a 5.4 mile adventure! 😬
After .7 miles of walking (and maybe some complaining!) Christie made me flag down a UTV that was passing by for a ride. I put my thumb out 👍 as they drove by, but they passed us right up! 🤣 They ended up turning around about 400 feet past us and asked if we were trying to hitchhike.
Well…. if you’re offering a ride, we’ll take it!
Thanks to the Zorns from Zorn Trucking for showing us a little sympathy and kindness! ❤️❤️
We got back to my truck and realized that we were actually related! SMALL WORLD!
In the end, Christie was still thankful for the adventure that I took her on and I am as sore as a 42 year old man can get! 🤣👍
