In this presentation we share an incredible story in the chronicles of collecting (like what I did there?😉🤓). A viewer of this channel has spent a lifetime in search of a miniature troll figurine obtained from a gumball / vending machine back in 1964! In this video we lay out the events leading up to him soon being reunited with this cherished treasure of his childhood.
Of course a medley of other trinkets and knickknacks make a cameo appearance, including Mexican Jumping Beans, etc.
We also briefly touch on the concepts of manifesting and synchronicity. ‪@appoloniataylor2840‬
The trolls were also referred to as Dam Dolls because of the Danish creator’s namesake. They were first wildly popular in the early 1960s, but have endured in popular culture to this day.
The mission of this channel is to cultivate interest in collecting in current and future generations, thereby helping to ensure historical and cultural appreciation and preservation. If you support this endeavor, please subscribe, like, comment and share!
If you love antiques, history and obscure collectibles, follow the official Collector Chronicles Instagram page! I’m also on TikTok! Links are in our KZbin “About” tab.
As always, thank you for watching and happy collecting!

Thanks again for telling me the name of the jumping bean toys! I got a few on ebay. I also have a small collection of vending machine cards with the toys intact. I wasn't able to purchase many as a kid as my mom was a depression-era kid and found the vending machine toys to be a waste of money.

We were pretty broke in the 80s too. Heck, you might not have got the stuff on the card anyway. If I would have been able to get whole cards full of the good stuff as a boy I would’ve lost my freaking mind. 🤓😂

You are very kind and have a good heart. The mini-gorilla, tiny Frankenstein still on the header card, the snake charmer, jumping beans, "see-no-evil" monkey (there were a variety of them) are all sought after Hong Kong charms!! Some people are more about connecting with childhood memories and having fun than monetary value and I think you get that. You have a lot of neat '60's stuff!!! You have a light bulb in the bottom right corner of the cigar box that was on the upper right corner of your last one- lol. I know everyone has different interests but I thought I'd mention that some of these lightbulbs were manufactured in Hong Kong to glow a really cool blue...(many of them but not all of them). Something good will come back to you. My wife appreciates that you like cats. I really like your videos and enjoy looking through a good vintage gum machine toy collection. Mega-thanks!!!

That really means a lot to me, thank you. 🥹 BTW your troll and some other goodies went out today. I had to find him first. 😂 Pretty chaotic here but as I get caught up on some of these videos things are returning to some semblance of order. Don’t worry about the shipping cost or sending any charms although I do appreciate the sentiment. I do like anything little WW1 U.S. or WW2 Japanese/German so if you run across anything you are looking to sell I’ll be buying again when Summer comes. As far as cats, I have one of my twin sisters sitting on my lap as I type this. If it wasn’t for cats and music, I’m not so sure I would have made it this long. 😂

Oh ya when you say the light bulbs glow, you mean just the plastic is “glow in the dark”?

@@CollectorChronicles Yes CC, if you charge the charm next to a real lightbulb and then go into a dark room (or I guess you could just turn off the lights- lol) it glows. They glow an unusual purplish-blue, most glow in the dark material glows green. Anyway an older cousin gave me one of these in '64 or '65 and I still have it. Later I found others but found out that all of them do not do this. Some of them were manufactured in solid white plastic (when not glowing ). Others were manufactured in weird looking plastic that really resembles the glass of an incandescent light bulb.

@@CollectorChronicles Oh wow!!! That is so nice of you!! Actually my wife and I have been collecting this and that for years. We took note of your interest in military ephemera. We'll be in touch.

Those jumping beans if you kept them in a small box you would eventually find a small mosquito -type fly that hatched. The larva eventually hatched leaving a small fly.

Breathing and focusing on something like music on the way helps me not have a panic attack. I e been dealing with it since I was really little though. But yeah I have a troll that is flesh colored I can't remember if it has blue or purple hair though
