Found Hoshizaki Undercounter Ice Maker - Can I fix it?

Great video and you inspired me to fix my unit, same kind, which had a crack in the water inlet valve after our recent freeze here in Texas. Little bit of gorilla glue on the crack and general cleaning/sanitizing the water bin, works like its brand new. I appreciate you showing the steps. It helped me be more comfortable doing it myself. Thanks again!

Yep you got it, condenser is what you had refered to as the coils, great video. I stumbled upon my hoshizaki i.m the same exact way as you. My motor looks a bit more corroded than yours but im glad to see im not alone!

I have to say that Hoshizaki is a great company. I can find all their manuals online. Looks like this is a model C-80BAJ or close relative. That lime build up is normal, and requires periodic service. There most likely is a purge cycle where the water is drained as during ice making the dissolved impurities build up, and get concentrated. The purge cycle dumps the water from the reservoir, on some sort of timer system. The condenser coil on all units that have them require periodic vacuuming of hair and dust that accumulates. Now that the machine is functional, I have to agree with you. It is sitting in my garage which is ridiculously hot this time of year and it has been running like a champ.
