Hi Great as usual and thank you. I have noticed you referred to different types of refrigerants R410A (most common) R22 and HCFC (will be replaced due to Ozon depletion potential (WHEN LEAKED) both R410A and R22 are A1 class non-flammable refrigerants, while you mentioned R454B which is an A2L class flammable which will require extra safety measures to protect the installer and of course the user. These classifications are as per ASHRAE34 & ISO817. It is important to mention the classification as 99% of AC refrigeration engineers are not aware of flammable which was recently introduced while A1 class non-flammable has been around since 1928. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Craig, I love your videos, and want to study for and get my 606 EPA license soonest. I have orderd your book. guage set and dual temp meter.. but I must ask since I see almost NO mention of it at all...: What about "Packaged Units" where the Outdoor and Indoor unit's functions are both packaged together and installed on the roof of a commercial building?.. There is an Intake duct side thru a large air filter , into the "Outdoor" compartment with the condender, accumulator and reversing valve, and a very large condenser coil assembly and heat exhaust fan, and a separate "Indoor" coil side within the same Heat Pump unit that has a large squirrl cage blower forcing air across the super cold indoor Coil assy equivalent on that side back down into a duct that forces cold air into several office spaces and a half dozen vent grills in rooms in the vicinity below it in that part of the building.. My two questions are .. where do you connect your guage set to monitor the temperatures and pressures in this type of " Packaged" 5 ton Heat Pump system? the HI and LOW sharader valves are only 1/4 tubing T-d off of the main / large tubes I think I should be monitoring.. We're in San Diego and I think all the heating /defrost functions may have been disabled on this unit during or after installation. it's 8 years old and I see three White wires are disconnected and a couple other deviations from the schematic. . the low pressure tube coming back into the condensor side is so cold its completely iced over on that 4 foot? large line entering the Reversing Valve, and I'd need to chip that ice off to connect a thermal probe there.. is that normal that this suction/ low side line comiing into the Condensor compartment should run so cold on hot days, and have constant Ice covering it? two days ago I got it running and slowly added 410A to the LOW side Shrader valve gradually from a near zero PSI point up to nearly 30 degrees as read on the 410A scale on the guage and the HI Side shrader valve also started at near zero PSI and came up to no higher than 130psi in the 40 minutes I took to partially fill it with about 7 of the 10.6 gals of 410A this system will take .. I made sure to purgs any Air drom the lines before starting to fill the LOW side slowly.. It Iced over during teh process, could this be normal for this type of system? Down below in the offices at the vent grills the temp has cooled from over 75+ to to 63.5 on day one but is now at 66 deg F on day two. I had to disconnect the NEST Rev 3 completely and jumper R-G-Y-O in a wingnut at the input to the unit and had to force the CONTACTOR ON because what was happening is the R voltage was only 4 to 5 vac .. and the NEST would constantly complain about the R lead bieng disconnected yet the wiring itself is OK.. anyway I have a new defrost control board on order since some restors are burnt on it, and I believe it is what is causing the R winding vac to drop. After a 5 minute run interval with Contactor manually depressed that same R winding vltg, the Contactor Coil voltage and the voltage at the Wingnut RGOY jumper all pop up to where they should be at 26.7 vac and it continues to run fine .. But I have no thermostatic control..and if I kill the main 240 breaker it wont start up without manually depressing the contactor for 5 minutes again.. Totally UNSAT .. Anyway I hope you can reply to my questions above. I will be shutting it all down again and checking all the limit switches for continuity thru them before replacing the defrost board when it does arrive in a week or so..

Minor Adjustment:@ <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="441">7:21</a>-<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="483">8:03</a> I love the videos just want to state that but you mentioned something about The refrigerant subcooling being 16degrees subcooled measured, and your data tag indicated txv subcooling needs to be 12, You mentioed to correct this charge is by adding refrigerant to achieve the 12 degree subcool mark, Which is not correct. you would recover the refrigerant because you're over your mark, High Subcool you need to recover and low subcool you need to charge the unit to match the marking stated on the data tag. Love the videos though very informative.

Master, 'why isn't the High Side or High Temp Side used to Heat Water as Pre-Heating for Home Hot Water System? Also, why isn't Thermal Electric - Tec's Used to generate Electric Power to off set Power use and to generate Power for LED Lighting for Home and Office use? Just asking. These Unit's Waste enough Energy that if someone had a mind too, could use that Waste to Power a lot of things in the Home. This would help cut Energy Cost in the Home.

Question??? Why by adding refrigerant we raise the subcooling so the line temp stays the same but the gauge temperature rises right….but sometime they both rise at the same time what is happening in that situation?????
@jeremiasramos84622 жыл бұрын
In other words is hard to get the require subcooling if they both temperatures rises at the same time
@acservicetechchannel2 жыл бұрын
So they will both rise in temperature when you have a very low subcooling, then when you get closer to an accurate charge, the subcooling will increase with the line temp lowering. I understand what you are saying completely. You just need to continue to add refrigerant until you notice a higher spread between the line temp and the sat temp, thanks!
