I hope Caleb is doing okay. I too broke my left femur in January 1980 from my leg hitting the back right corner of a car. I passed out from the pain and came to within a minute. They put a velcro boot on my foot with a ten pound weight keeping my bone separated like they did with Caleb. Caleb's break was more severe than mine because mine stayed in place where his overlapped causing him severe pain. Ah, new baby goats! It's awesome seeing Kora hanging out guarding the babies.

Baby goats so precious. Kora is obviously guarding the goats, maybe the new babies will encourage her, as well as her surgery, to stay and do her job!! Prayers continue for Kaleb. Had horrific storm in Dallas county, TX about 5 months ago. I live in a surrounding suburb, without power for 5 1/2 days. I have a secondary home in Ft Worth, so high tailed over there after 2 days for the long haul. Left my big power bank on for the freezer. Things were beginning to thaw just as power came back on. Lucked out on that one. Everyone in these areas need to save up for some kind of power bank. I will be getting a larger one when I can afford it due to increasingly violent weather conditions over the past years and the fact that it’s beginning to take longer for repairs as our towns grow. God’s blessings to HHF&family. Like that water! Will look into that, takes up very little space.

I live right over the border on KS! And those storms visited us too!! I was surprised at all the lightening last nite. I do love a good ks thunderstorm!! Today we have some sun but the wind oh my gawd!! I'm gonna say upwards of 40 to 50 mph! In fact hubby just had to retrieve our upright trash can from across the street! It's howling for sure today! I am glad that Caleb is moving around. When you both shared about what had happened I was in tears, I could totally relate to what you were going through. Years ago when my son was about 16 he was out in the desert riding his motorcycle a jeep that was going so fast did not see my son long story short the jeep crushed my son into so boulders his left femur was crushed. He was air lifted to children’s hospital were they did immediate surgery, he too has all this hardware in his femur. My son is now 31 years old and says it does not give him problems at all. So please let Caleb know once he heals he won’t even noticed it. By the way I am really glad your get much needed rain, I know it’s hard when you are in a drought. And I love your chicken coup. I can’t wait to see what other projects you have next.

Fortunately when my power goes out, it is usually winter so my freezers are fine. They rarely come on in the winter, already 2 below zero. Had to wear a light jacket today for the first time. We had 14 inches of snow/ice last month. Back roads (my house) are an ice skating rink. Glad to hear Caleb is better! You guys have all been in my prayers! I’ll have surgery Dec 9 to remove a disintegrated trapezoid bone at the base of my thumb. 2 weeks in a brace then a cast for 6 weeks. I hope my pain leaves. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Filling our chest freezer with beef this week. Didn’t get any grow out pigs this year. So we’re buying fresh ground pork to add to the freezer here in Virginia. Gotta leave room for Venison too! Having water storage is very important. Look at Western NC. It has been 7 weeks since the hurricane destroyed that area and even those who have running water are told not to drink it because there are no treatment plants running to make it fit for consumption!

How is Caleb doing? We had a bad snowstorm that left us with 5 ft snow drifts. We got a Generac to take care of my oxygen needs. Hopefully, we will have a full tank of propane when we lose power. But so far, so good. Good luck with your new babies. I love goats.

I live in Okc, Oklahoma and I would be without electric for over 2 weeks several times in the spring every year. I had 2 full freezer the big ones each time and I just quit stocking it. Finally I didn't have any this last spring or summer or now in Nov. Knock on wood. Although we had tornado sirens constantly so I gave up and got up and stayed up.😂 But I do know what you mean. Its better to work a plan out. ❤ So glad to see Kora in the barn with baby goats 🐐 😊
