I was playing a game with my buddy the other day and he picked a skin for his character that was centipede based. He was super grossed out and kept going on about how much it messed with him. I found a ton of mini centipedes for $2 at Walmart for Halloween decor the next day. Bought it, put some on bases, and then used another to kitbash a skeleton I had laying around into some sort of centipede demon. Can't wait till he meets that guy :^)

I'd love to give this stuff more of a shot; most of the "mini's" I use are bluetack model on coins. It works, and my players enjoy crushing goblins and bandits with their bare hands. But it's not as visually satisfying as stuff like this, It also just seems like a tonne of fun to take some old toys worth pennies and make something out of them!
@Blandco
@Blandco 4 жыл бұрын
If you have been sculpting with blue tack you might want to try out some Green stuff modeling. Green stuff is tough to work with because it's so sticky but once it dries you have a permanent mini. Sadly your players can't easy crush models like that.

@@Blandco When you've worked bluetack down to a near liquid, anything is possible! Regardless, thank you kindly for the tip; I'll look into getting some green stuff and making some practice models, could always use more bandits and the like!

I know where the goodwill by tue pound octopus tentacles are from! XD My daughter has one. Lol good ol' imaginex space tentaclor. Haha I had to compare them to make sure. Sadly the toy is discontinued BUT you can find octopus finger tentacles on Amazon if you wanted to make more :) they're used as hand puppets lol. Hope that helped solve the mystery. I saw your video of it before but it didn't occur to me until last night when I was cleaning up her toys lol

Saw a bag with a miniature castle and knight set. After buying it for about 2$ I made took it home and am glad to see the knight are the right size for Halflings or gnomes (but in full metal armour and wielding a spear of sword and shield). Though the castle itself is rather tiny and not scaled to the knights it came with. I am thinking of turning into a fairy mansion or fortress. A building that I treat as a spawner for waves of soldiers to swarm the players. Who knows what will happen when the gate opens again and again, will it unleash another swarm, raise a white flag or maybe let out the captain himself and his best men for the final round? Sometimes it is the odd toys you find hidden amongst store shelves that make as good as the expensive minis you find in the grandest game store. ( I think, I hope to see the two small stores I know again for what else they might have in stock).

So many great conversions! :D I think I actually may have that exact same wagon, which I found at a thrift store here in Norway. Also managed to get the SW tentacly thing when I was in England a while back. :D And that Dreamblade mini shows up in my latest video - love Dreamblade! :D As for the pronounciation of Kraken, the latter is correct. Hard pronounciation, like "crack". :)
