Advice her mom gave her was at that moment it wouldn't be wrong to leave then. nor would it be wrong to see if things could be fixed and then leave later when you realized it wouldn't work. Prioritizing his happiness in the moment is fine if he comes to realize the relationship doesn't bring him happiness then he should leave.

Moreover, the big point of her anxiety attack that first sent her to ER wasn't in in large part about how she hurt OP or potentially losing him, but how she'd be seen as the first of her family to be divorced. On top of this, she had confessed that despite the earlier cop-out about having warped values in regards to marriage that she acknowledged (at the time of the events) that she was cheating. Even if she does not cheat or further betray his trust, these facts are going to be felt for potentially the rest of his life with her.

@@Garbagecant24 What do you mean? Is it so absurd that someone could develop severe anxiety? She had to go to the ER, had meds prescribed but the situation that caused the anxiety still exists (not talking about whose guilt it is here, just that the situation is still there). OP said some episodes they were able to deal with it using meds at home, but some were too severe and the meds weren't enough so she had to go to the hospital. If she was faking it, the doctor would be able to tell by doing the routine procedures for anxiety. Or she developed Oscar-winning acting skills to fool medical professionals The anxiety is more plausible.

That wedding was a set up. The entire wedding party knew she slept with that guy while she was dating her husband. Still they had her dance with him in front of the husband. They could have easy split them apart. They chose to humiliate her husband during the wedding. It's almost like they wanted to break her up with her husband or hook her up with the best man or something. There is a reason she had to tell him. They were actively talking about her sleeping with this guy. She was scared he would hear about it from others whispering and laughing behind his back. He was publicly cucked and then gaslighted to believe it wasn't a big deal. The wedding was worse than the actual cheating. Enjoy having a family that does that to you.

Honestly. She totally hooked up with him again before the wedding because no one brought it up when it happened, why would they now? Because it freshly happened. Then she humiliates him, and then acts all sad? After saying it wasn't a big deal? How does she go from "It's not a big deal, get over it" to panic attacks in the ER? Hes a fucking sucker. I'm sorry but I'd totally tell the hospital that I fear for her life, keep her ass locked in there and file for divorce.

First it's based on "a long time ago", then it's gaslighting, then it's emotional manipulation to garner sympathy, then dragging others in to gang up on you to create a sense of guilt, and at last it's "claiming" responsibility when in fact it was more of a "oopsie, I'm just a poor ignorant woman that didn't know any better, don't blame me, because I didn't know".

In a world where cheating is prevalent and growing up around people getting hurt from it, it should've been obvious that it was the wrong thing. "oopsie, not my fault, I was raised that way." Imagine a woman telling you that she doesn't even consider you to be a human with emotions, and that she holds no loyalty towards you, but in the same breath she says that she loves you and wants to get married. It lacks all common sense and is an obvious lie to pit the blame elsewhere so that she can still benefit from you.

Therapist said that move was manipulative. And it was. That specific part about giving her the divorce papers and saying "just in case". Because if you are working towards reconciliation you don't keep bashing the other person, that solves nothing. You choose a path and you stay on it. If you want to change paths, change it. Babysitting a cheater’s feelings is how you end up with a dozen more ER trips. In reality, this kinda trauma will be difficult for him to handle.

As someone who has been on both ends of cheating, what she did was awful. She didn't do any true growth to have a good marriage. It doesn't matter that she never cheated since they have been married. I would suggest that if they don't want to divorce yet, they can seprate for a lengthy period of time. Then if they want to try again, begin dating again and go from there. I believe a cheater can change but that includes time and self refection which i highly doubt OP's wife has.

Provided that all parties involved were 100% honest then I can't really fault the wife for having the mindset that led to what she did, you are a product of how you were raised/what you were taught, people can literally be raised to be racist against their own race if thats all they know. The blame lies with her parents and primarily her Mother. That said her complete disregard for his feelings is absolutely 100% hers to own and whatever the guy ends up choosing to do in the future regarding their relationship is completely valid because even though she cant really be blamed for her mindset that led to her cheating it still happened and nobody gets to tell him how to feel about that. And yes I know it was clarified that she knew it was cheating but its still something that she chose to do on the basis of believing that what happens before marriage is made invalid/will be forgiven when shes married...for all we know she never would have done it if she was raised right. This mentality is also more common then people think, bachelorette parties especially are to be feared because cheating happens during these painfully often because women think a last ride is allowed before marriage 🤦‍♂

There's more to a relationship than whether somebody is cheating or not; though infidelity is a sure way to make things miserable.
