That is funny that they sold the Suqqu with the heavier cream foundation! i bought the Suqqu (mostly for travel) but was waiting for your review. I'll try it with my "runny" Suqqu foundation. Looking forward to the fupa review. You are getting close to 2K - so happy for you! Well deserved :-)

Very helpful thanks. I’ve had my eye on one of the Surratt eye blending brushes. I can’t remember who it was. But someone on here said it was a great brush. Worth the money. I’ve got a set of suqqu eye brushes and the cheek brush . Thing is with expensive brushes I don’t use them as much . As my cheaper ones. As petrified of ruining them , being that expensive .

I understand exactly what you mean! I am always afraid to ruin my nicer brushes too but think if it more as an investment in yourself and use what feels best. I have the surratt eye blending brushes and they are great! I think it is worth having one or two of them. They are really unique.

Hi Lexi, I love the aesthetic of the Suqqu foundation brush even tho it may not work as well with thicker or heavier foundations. The curve and density of the bristles and the movement is just so appealing, lol. I'm kind of surprised and disappointed that the Surratt brush feels scratchy. Thanks Pam! I am curious about the sonia g base one because people complained of the original being scratchy and she switched the bristles so I am wondering how these compare. The Suqqu brush is nice and soft and I love the way it fits in my hand. It is a nice brush!

Hi Lexi, thanks for this video! I was really thinking on buying the Suqqu brush specially to be used with my cream foundations and you make me save my money. I’m not buying it. In the other hand, I love my Surratt foundation brush, specially for my liquid foundations (Pat McGrath and KDG Aqua- agree!), I don’t feel it is scratchy; however if you compare it with the T-11 definetly is not that soft. Thanks! 🌺

I am glad I could help you in regards to the Suqqu brush. I am glad your Surratt brush isn’t scratchy. Perhaps i am just more used to brushes like the t-11 where the shape makes it feel a bit softer.

Completely agree with your thoughts on the Surratt brush. Beautiful brush and still glad I have it. I bought the koyudo based on your recommendation and I’m loving it. Alternate it with westman atelier brush. Great content Lexi!!

Thank you for your honest opinion on the Surratt brush. I didn't pick it up during the recent sale, I think I am okay without it even though it makes your foundation look so good on your skin. The Suqqu brush has such a unique shape, but I'm currently in the fude phase so I will limit my purchase of synthetic brushes for the time being. I'm actually on team sponge for foundations, and it's interesting how you say it's hard to clean sponges when I think it's hard to clean brushes 😂, but then I just purchased some foundation fude to give them a try 😊.

Lol! I think it is so much easier to see the brushes get thoroughly cleaned compared to a sponge where you can’t see what is trapped inside unless you cut it open. I love the way sponges apply foundation but i love the ease of a brush!

Hi Lexi! Thank you for the review. I was a bit curious about the Surratt brush - and happy I didn’t buy it. With respect to the foundation you used, I think it might be too oily because it emphasized texture while failing to provide effective redness correction. I also have sensitive skin and I get better and smoother coverage with oil-free (yet hydrating) foundations.

Thx for this! I have bought several lovely brushes you recommended. Also, I just got the Bobbi Brown Luxe Encore palette in the ‘burgundy/rose gold’. It looked quite delicate and subtle when I swatched it but, wow, one of the shades (top right I think) looked insanely beautiful when I looked in the mirror! I am so glad I bought it. There is a mattish brown in there too. Is your daughter also an Ariana?

Great video! I got the Suqqu brush last week but have only tried it with the Suqqu foundation. I like it so far! I must try it with KGD Aqua. That's disappointing that the Surratt brush is scratchy, I'll pass on this one so! Also, the Surratt brush boxes are a royal pain to open! I have the KGD buffing brush arriving, hopefully in next few days, from Beautylish.

Yes I kept the boxes for a while too but then chucked all but two of them. I'm planning a mini IKEA hack with these by sticking them to the bottom of a Moppe mini chest of drawers to lift it off the ground. In my head it will work but we will see!

Thanks for your review, I have been wondering about the Suqqu foundation brush for application of the cream foundation. I need a brush for my sensitive skin when using the Suqqu cream foundation and Westman Atelier foundation that will give a great finish and do so quickly. Do you have any recommendations - natural &/or synthetic bristle? Thanks again for the thoughtful and thorough reviews😀

I haven’t tried the new version of the koyudo fu-pa yet but that might be a good choice. Otherwise, i think the koh gen do buff brush and the chikuhodo t-11 are great options. The kgd is synthetic and the t-11 is undyed goat hair. I love both.

I own so many really nice japanese foundation brushes but I still love the damp beauty blender the best along with fingers first then the damp beauty blender. I have dry skin so it works for me. I also tried other sponges but the natural beauty blender is the best only the Natural one it has no dyes in it.

I haven’t tried the natural one! I have tried so many of their different varieties but i have noticed the dyes wash out and it always bothered me. I will have to look into the natural one!
