It's okay for powders to use them longer but I personally wouldn't put anything which expired a long time ago on my acne prone sensitive skin. Did it once and had a massive breakout for months which only my dermatologist could help healing.

I love these videos because it's what... 80- something foundation mini reviews in under half an hour. So helpful! Also, I find that our opinions are usually always the same, and I think we have basically the same skin types, so I'm generally comfortable making a decision based on your opinion of a product (except for the Revlon foundation - I love the one for combo/oily skin on top of super hydrated skin & mixed with Smashbox primer oil). Can you do concealer next, please? I'm almost finished with my Maybelline Age Rewind and am trying to decide what to buy next. I've been using it for 2 years, and just want to try something new.

agree, I think the expiration date may refer to the sunscreen in the product (it's not unsafe to use, just won't work as well as sunscreen)

I'm so glad I'm not a beauty blogger! I wouldn't be able to stand having so many choices for makeup, it would be way too overwhelming. I enjoy my small collection, it's enough to have a few options depending on how my skin is behaving, but not so many that I would have to throw them all away before I come close to finishing them before they expire.

When I purchase makeup I write the purchase date on the container with a Sharpie. I keep the marker in the makeup drawer, so it's always handy.

I LOVE that you took makeup to the shelter and even more so that you gave them new products. Even people in need are human and it's not sanitary to give them used makeup. It just isn't. That made me so happy that you take people in to consideration with things like that. Like just because they are in need and struggling does not mean they deserve makeup that's been used by other strangers. It's a nice gesture but it's not the best idea. Ugh I love you that much more! with the smashbox foundation, your primer could be messing it up if it's not the same base! (e.g. a silicone based primer doesn't usually work well under a water based foundation)

If the coverage of the MUFE waterblend isn't enough you can use it as a base for a different foundation and it makes the other foundation waterproof

My CoverFX foundation did the same thing and I store mine all up right! I had it for maybe 4 months and barley reached for it because I bought it a bit to light to lighten my summer foundations. Well I went to go grab mine the other day to add coverage to a BB cream and it was a thick gunky mess!

CrimesAndCosmetics don't go with expiration dates. I talked to a chemist and he said that sometimes the spf expires and it doesn't work but the product is the same unless you see the formula and smell changes.

I found that with the coverfx drops too. I maybe used it five times with moisturizer and a couple with actual foundations and there was no more product that I can get out. looked pretty similar to yours too. and I store my stuff standing on a kitty-corner shelving unit

Whenever I buy a foundation I put a sticker on it with the expiration date (based on the little jar on the tube). This has saved me from using expired stuff cuz I'm more likely to notice the date than remember when I opened every single one!

I love the Loreal Lumi and GA Luminous silk and plan to do a dupes vid now that I just found out that 90% of the ingredients are identical! Thanks for this declutter! I agree on the Revlon foundation stick...really nice. And, I have no idea why, but I'm afraid to put my Colorstay on my face, because I'm scared i will look OLDER even. I need to declutter!

I had the same problem with the cover FX drops. Mine I keep on my shelf standing up and it got so nasty and so quick. I had to add oil to it to keep it going but seriously I wouldn't buy it again because of that situation

Absolutely hate the smashbox foundation when I use it with a brush!! But when I apply it with a super damp beauty blender its so amazing. Favourite foundation although they don't have super light shades so I cant wear it unless I'm lightly fake tanned :(

You need to try the Elf moisturizing stick foundation or the Golden Rose stick foundation. Both give a beautiful finish and are super easy to work with.

Siru Holmström a lot of times it jus has to do with the ingredients. Like my water based foundations have a shorter expiration date because water will grow bacteria/mold(yes makeup can grow mold) faster.

The Mehron cream foundations are meant for stage makeup (theatre stage usually), so they're usually pretty different from what we'd normally think a foundation would be. :)

Girl! Don't throw all those foundations out! (The expired stuff) - Those expiration dates are there for companies to be safe and required by law... But the rule of thumb is if a product isn't smelling funny or really performing oddly, the product is still good and is still very safe to use. This is especially true for foundations. You will KNOW without a doubt when a makeup product like foundation or primer goes bad. I hate to see all that makeup get thrown out just because the label says it's "expired". When I clean out my collection and something is expired but still performing beautifully and has no signs of needing to throw away, I just make it a priority to use it more often than other products. Of course it's your collection so whatever you are comfortable with doing is best! Just wanted to let others know who think they need to wipe out their collection xD

I loveeee true match lumi and have been wanting to try the luminous silk foundation for awhile now! Great to hear it's so similar, but knowing me I'll have to try the Armani one for myself anyways. Funny enough I was just watching a video by Stephanie Nicole and she said that the formulas are proven to be about 80% similar. Not sure how it was proven, but either way pretty cool. :)

L'Oreal owns Armoni and the True match lumi is 80% the same formula as the luminous silk. It may even be more, it's been a while since I've looked at the ingredients. So yes, they are an amazing dupe of each other. 😀

When you mix the Infallible Glow and Matte together, do they end up separating after a while? I also own both formulas but feel hesitant to mix them bc I worry they'll break up on my face... assuming the Glow formula is more water based and the Matte is more silicone based. what type of primer do you use when you mix them? thanks!

Collenga S They are both actually silicone/dimethicone based foundations so you can mix them. The matte foundation just has isododecane in the first few ingredients which is what EVERY foundation on the market uses to mattify. The Glow foundation has several forms of glycerin for hydration. Both have water as the #1 ingredient. I'm guessing the glow version just has a higher %. Personally, I LOVE mixing these two together based on what my combo skin is doing or where I might be traveling. If you mix equal parts of each, the result is this gorgeous satin finish that seriously will last 14 hours without breaking down.

It's funny how you're on the fence about foundations I love! Like the smashbox studio skin and the Lancôme teint idole ultra (which I think the maybelline matte and poreless is the dupe for this). They're both so long wearing, light weight on the skin, both are light-medium to buildable coverage, lots of colour shades to choose from, no weird smell, sits well on the skin, flawless but still skin like finish. 😱 different skincare as your base could definitely change the way it sits on your skin too. Seeing you declutter your foundations is making me see that there are some that I want to ADD to mine. 😂😂

I never have an issue with NARS Sheer Glow breaking up or coming off during the day. If I had to get rid of everything single foundation and only keep one it would easily be that one. The formula is comfortable, beautiful on the skin and long wearing.
