I didn't like the Urban Decay AT ALL the first time I used it and felt that it made my 56 year old skin look older, which if you watch my video of it, you'll see what I mean. But then I decided to give it a second try and add a drop of oil to it and man, it made all the difference in the world and now I'm totally in love with it! Now it glides on so smooth and doesn't look so dry or emphasize my pores or fine lines. I still use the same primer and beauty blender so it was a simple drop of oil that made the difference. I'm so glad that I gave it a second chance!

This is the only foundation I have that actually covers my (severe) melasma. Angie is correct...it dries way darker than it looks when wet! I suggest allowing yourself plenty of time when testing these out. Apply, let dry, then decide. I appreciate their color selections - lots of choices for us who have olive undertones. It is a heavy foundation and does settle into fine lines, but is great for photos and behind bright lights like a studio (would be great for news anchors).

I bought the 4.5, it DOES get darker after application...it's really hard to find the right match with color and you have to buy 2 or 3..yes.. ugh lol. But I really LOVE this foundation as far a coverage. I don't even need to use a concealer with this foundation as it's coverage is truly FULL!!! :) Great review!

I just bought this and it is my new favorite product. I am 50 and have gone through A LOT of different foundations and with mature skin it is getting harder and harder. I do not have oily skin and I find this is still fantastic on my skin, doesn't settle in my little wrinkles, does not feel heavy and has amazing coverage all day. I believe it simply depends on each individuals skin and how it reacts to it. I do not use a primer and have zero gloss bye bedtime with this. It is a bit costly but in my case was very worth it.

I had seen some videos about large pores and Urban Decay All Nighter and wanted to try it out. I said to myself first, "what would Angie say?" I came back to this review again. Your comment, "what keeps this out of holy grail status is that it's not the most natural looking makeup..." sold me, because I don't care so much about that. I need that full coverage! I tried 4.0 and it's a little light for me. Will get a sample of 5.0 I think because it looked like the next best shade for me. I found the foundation to be a little tacky, but that gives it the staying power/coverage, I guess. Will see how 5 goes. Not ready to drop $40 before I try another sample ... love the lipstick. I like the cover with the beauty blender because you can sheer it out but I could not find the right color for me! It kept oxidizing even after going down 2 shades so I gave up!

right on about the colors! 3.5 in the Naked Skin is a perfect match for me. 3.5 in All Nighter is much more orange. It's workable, but I was disappointed. For me (50), this is definitely nighttime makeup...night-on-the-town type makeup. Too heavy for daytime.

I had played with the shades in Ulta and thought I was a 2.5 but when I asked for a sample at Sephora she thought I was shade 2.0. I'm not 100% sure it was the best. I've only worn it one day, but feel I should put it to the test more. I'm currently using It Cosmetics CC in light. I'd like to try your HG Channel foundation :). Happy Anniversary! Your makeup in this video looks flawless. Sometimes I find it annoying to try and figure out the best method for applying foundation. Particularly because each foundation works best with different methods of application and all cosmetic companies recommend one of their specific brushes. I so appreciate all the effort you go to on our behalf. I agree that I am not going to buy 2 & 3 foundations to mix to find my correct color. I have found that as I have gotten older my undertones have changed from golden yellows to a more neutral tone. I don't know if that happens to everyone but it definitely happened to me which makes a lot of my previously owned makeup next to useless and I am having to start all over with matching. That's an expensive proposition and one I don't particularly care for.

Great review!! I tried it, but I feel this is better for combination skins, my dry aging skin didn't like it..it marked all the lines in n my face, and just wasn't comfortable for me to wear !! Also younger skins might love it !!

Personally, I haven't tried this All Nighter out yet, but I've seen a salesperson wear it in a store, and it looked pretty heavy and cakey. The oxydizing part does not sound all great either. So I think I'll stick with their Naked Skin or the One and Done tinted moisturizer, they go on smoothly and seamlessly.

I've been looking forward to this review and you didn't disappoint. I agree with you. I have a sample of this from Sephora and when it dries, the colour is way off. Arrrgh. Such a hassle to go back and get more samples and mess around with them to find the right shade. I may not bother. I do like the coverage though. I'm dying to try this, but it seems like choosing the right shade is a nightmare (with the application color and the dry down color being so different).
