It's a rare day when someone remembers Banished. What a good game that got abandoned. Comparing this to that game makes me eager to check this out.
@malcolmcooke7131 Жыл бұрын
Not sure if it was necessarily abandoned, its just been a long time since it came out. The dev is still working on a sequel-esque thing too and there's loads of mods that make it still worth playing today!

Hey I love Foundation! It's a great experiment of AI and city planning that I love. I especially like the way they implemented the "desire paths" as a way of showing how a town naturally develops. I hope you play more with it, especially as the devs continue to update it!

I loved this game from the first time I played it about two years ago. They changed so much and added a lot. They game always reminded me of Banished. Quiet peaceful and fun to just sit and watch. I'm gonna pick up Foundation again. Amazing nich game.

A thing with maximising tax income: higher-tier villagers produce more taxes, have a larger cap per house, and consume both more goods and a greater variety thereof. If you can unlock the market stalls tax through a quest, you'll be absolutely set for taxes. Until then, maybe build a little tax office or two? They don't have to be connected to, or near to the manor

So regarding the lack of urgency, that doesn't necessarily have to come from combat. There are loads of other challenges to medieval survival that could happen, like harsh winters, floods, crop blight etc, and other things like medieval festivals or noble visits you have to prepare for.

'Granary' _is_ actually derived from 'grain', but in Latin. So pronouncing it 'grainery' isn't really wrong, IMO.

Just a week ago I built a village that completed ALL the aspirations. All of them. Including the hard ones. That was painful and I really don't recommend it unless you really know what you're doing. But it was So great getting all eight of those achievements through nothing but strategy, game knowledge, and building a huge army of super soldiers to spam Heirloom Bounty and Beast Hunt (and other less profitable quests). Btw, Noble escort is really only useful for getting gems. Don't count on it for more than 5 coins.

Ok so you have a couple of simple problems you need to fix. If you mouse over the happiness icon it shows you what the problem is. You need food. You have no food. people are starving. You can put 2 forager huts on each cluster of berries. You have 2 clusters in the areas you own. Put two huts and each one. Then also put up more markets. The market only holds so much food before the person has to go get more from the grainery. More tables means more food available at any given moment. Also fish and bread will work. Put up like 4-6 fishing shacks. But bread should be later. Its takes more and is slower to produce. With that many huts and shacks you should be ok for awhile. Commoners need goods. So you need to get the clothing being made. And then put out markets for these as well. This will keep the commoners happy. But you shouldn't promote anyone to commoner until you have things running real smoothly. You will also need to keep track of your church. It can only hold so many people before either it needs to be added on to or another one needs to be built. Also. Get at least 20 people in your military. This is enough to handle almost every mission. Except 1 or 2 at the beginning. Once they start getting a little experience they will be able to handle every mission. More than one at a time once they get better. Missions are handled off screen. They have said there will never be any on screen violence in this game. You want to run missions to get money, supplies and influence. So... In order of importance: 1st get food settled. 2nd makes sure your church has enough room. 3rd get the military going for income and supplies. 4th get goods selling. (until you give the commoners goods they will be unhappy but they won't leave over it. But once you get them goods they will if they don't have it.) Oh, and one more thing. Spread out you markets and tax collectors. Shorter work distances speeds them up. This goes for churches as well. Right now make 2 market centers. Both types of foods and a goods in each. Plus a well, a church, and a tax collector. Consider these like little market centers. And put them on different sides of your town so each one serves a different area. Remember serfs need water, food, and church. Commoners need water, food, goods, and church. And they all pay taxes. Hope that helps! :-)

I think you’d enjoy it even if you didn’t make any videos on it (which I’d love to see) it checks everything off the box. It also us a newer sequel/remake as well. 1. Deep mechanics 2. yeah there is only one way to fail in this game and that is promoting more people than you actually need.and yes for some reason the game is a bit unexiting. everything works fine, its nice to watch, but there is not enough to do i think. a while ago i played factory town. it has some similarities which are: cuteness, completely relaxed game play with absolutely no pressure and there is absolutely no way how you could possibly fail a game. but still factory town managed to hook me up for over 100 hours. mostly because of some sort of exponentially rising complexity that keeps you busy with planing ahead, rebuilding and improvising. there is always so much to do. not so in this game.
