Russell "The Professor" Johnson died yesterday, January 16, 2014, at age 89. Another part of my childhood is gone. R.I.P., Mr. Johnson. Thanks for everything.

Gotta love the professor but I would've sent fanmail to Jim Backus. He was terrific on that show, as was Natalie Schafer who played his wife. RIP Mr & Mrs Howell

Russell Johnson is someone I wish I had met. The Professor was my favorite character in the show. The ironic thing is if you look at his biography, he states that he was terrible at science! However, he accepted his typecasting. He said "for better or for worse, I am the Professor".
