I desperately want to see closer the techniques used to make these masterful helmets by hand. Starting with the aluminum design. But into the era of leathers made helmets of similar aesthetics.

I have a Phenix First Due, a blue one. I will be ordering a new one. The First Due is the best helmet I have ever used. Great video, would love to see the museum and shop.

Tell me you’ve never worn a cairns 880 or 1044. I respect your opinion buuuut the 880 and the 10444 are the sexiest of them all.

Amazing history. Makes me want to come to Cali to see it, and pick up a TL-2 for myself.

Any one know why Cairns Helmets made a jet fighter pilot style XF1 fire helmet? Bollard has something similar called a Magma helmet. I noticed them online marketed to the US/Canadian fire fighting markets but I have yet to see them being worn despite them being on the market for a few years. Just a curious civilian fire fighting enthusiast asking.

I had one of the first two Phenix tl2 helmets in Mifflin county pa the first belonging to former pa state fire commissioner and my former chief ed Mann and I loved it ... unfortunately it was stolen about two years after I got it as a graduation gift for finishing my interior fire school training and I've never found it... I also haven't been able to afford a Leather personally and I wish I could they are simply the best and most nostalgic thing you can wear on your head.. I'm hoping to have enough money saved up to buy a new one with slightly curved up side brim and a bronx bend on the back in flat black... my dream lid lol... great product and loved the video... 19 year veteran Ff/rescue tech Matthew Ginithan City hook$ladder #14 Lewistown pa!!
