The only thing holding me back from finally switching to Foundry was that I had no idea where to begin learning how to use it. But I'm only halfway through this and it doesn't feel like a challenge anymore. Thanks dude!

Awesome video, Baileywiki! On word of advice (if you haven't done so already) is to turn whatever limiter you're using on your voice waaaaay down. About a 3rd of the time, what you're say is undecipherable due to your voice cutting out when you speak softer. Which is a shame as we want to hear what you have to say!

ok, so i spend now 6h workin trough multiple videos and tryal and erroring around VTT, and your video was the one that made it so i didn't have so search more videos anymore :D really nicely put together, and gives a good overview about what is possible, and enough knowledge to then try out yourself or look up specifics! Thank you for that!

Hey thanks for the guide, great work. Question: How did you determine how to scale your grid for the battlemap? For instance, I have an image of 3500 x 3500 pixels, with a dpi of 96 x 96. So how should I configure the map to get the best resolution? Is there some formula I can apply that uses these parameters? Thanks again for your work, super useful.
@Baileywiki2 жыл бұрын
Ah, there is a special function in Foundry to scale your grid. I don't use it a lot, but I think it calculates that for you automatically

Is there a known way to get rid of or reduce the really annoying pop ups that appear when you hover over something? They keep appearing, take what feels like forever to disappear, and often block the things I actually wanted to click.
@Baileywiki Жыл бұрын
Which popups are you talking about? Maybe just turning off tooltips in the global settings, or it's a module causing it.

Im confused how you were able to jump between controlling GM and Player. I don't know how to do tests (like if lighting works) If I don't actually know what the players see.
@Baileywiki Жыл бұрын
Just open a new browser in incognito mode, and invite your test player to that

@@Baileywiki So this would require the license then, cause can't seem to do it on GM demo sadly

How do you move the map about so you can work where you want to work?
@Baileywiki2 жыл бұрын
Check out the Controls button under your settings tab. It'll show you basic controls like panning and zooming the scene.

Just one word of advice, because ever single video like this from everyone does this... And it is probably a hard thing to do so I sympathize. Make the images of what you are doing bigger so people can see as well as hear what you are talking about. I am not blind, but holy crap I can never make out half these things visually.
@jontylerlud2 жыл бұрын
I mean the resolution is good. I can see everything just fine. Maybe it's harder to see on a phone though.
@jackeldridge42252 жыл бұрын
@@jontylerlud I rarely watch any of these on a cell. May have saved it to watch later on my laptop, while working but the fonts are TINY. Resolution is not the issue. It is size. It is not just here I only found one channel that actually magnifies what they are doing to easily see. And I am not hard of seeing. But I am also not Hawkeye.
@jontylerlud2 жыл бұрын
@@jackeldridge4225 Yeah I guess I'm speaking from a position of privilege as my screen is large enough where it's easy to see everything. I suppose a magnified view of what he is doing in the video would have been nice for smaller screen viewers.

Hi, new to the program. I realized after installing foundry to my main drive that I might want to store my game files on my bigger drive. That way I can store my pdfs there and adventure content for my foundry games. So I changed my user path after starting. It defaulted to my primary drive c. I changed it to E and had to restart then reapply my license information. Before I go much further, I just want to make sure I haven't already messed things up. That way if I need to uninstall and reinstall it all on the same drive I can do it. However, if what I've done is okay, that would be good too. I've seen the recommendations to back up my data files. Which if I've done what I've done right, I'll want to make sure to back up my files on E. Can you tell if I am right or not. btw: could you do a video to help those of use using the Star Trek Adventures ruleset? From what I've seen so far we are going to have to do everything manually. I've purchased what I can from modifius and the pdfs via drivethru. I just have no clue where to start other than installing the ruleset and lcars module.
@Baileywiki2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I'm neither an expert on backing up worlds nor the Start Trek games. 😭 Have you tried Foundry Discord?
