3x1350 in a 47 is a strong power package. How fast is it, 150+mph? How are the motors rigged, two back and one forward, or one back and two forward? The heir to the Italian Fendi fortune, Luca Fendi has a 50' Cigarette with two engines forward one back. I think they are Merc 1075s though, not the power of yours.
@DanielBramme13 жыл бұрын
@@dieseldog00 Hi Everett! Yes, it is quite a package. We don't know how fast it is or the top speed but it is fast. All three engines are in the back, posted a picture in the link below. :) instagram.com/p/CCpswNMFKKz/

@@DanielBramme1 Yes I know they're behind the cockpit. What I meant was that Fendi's boat is rigged with two forward and one rear behind the cockpit. I believe that arrangement is done to move the boat's center of gravity forward to keep the bow more level running in high sea states as is common in the Med where he runs his 50' Cigarette.

@@DanielBramme1 AB-80x sounds like he knows what he's talking about from experience...unlike myself whose knowledge has only come from reading and youtube. I have owned only two boats; a 24 foot trimaran with 700hp that ran 90mph and before that, a 23' Sea Ray that ran about 45mph.
@AB-80X2 жыл бұрын
@@DanielBramme1 Thank you Daniel. The triples can sometimes be a bit finicky to dial in. Those three wheels back there can really push the stern up which I’m turn can make the boat feel extremely loose at very high speeds. I drove a 47 about 7-8 years ago which really stands out because of the prop choice. The boat had rebuilt 1075’s which pushed 1150 hp each and it had been quite the handful above 130. The owner chose to run a set of props with 21 degrees of rake instead of 18 degrees which many normally use. Settled that stern right down and it ran on rails. Could it run 4-5 mph more with less rake? Perhaps, but it would be near impossible. Don’t recall the actual top speed, but I had it deep into the 130’s with plenty left, and it was by far the nicest driving 47 I have been at the helm of. Just something to maybe talk to Hering about. Perhaps try and contact Brett over at Bblades and see if he can send out a set of test props. Anyhow, looking forward to hear more:)

Those engines are somewhat quiet by nature and it gets a lot more so when the exhaust comes out under the platform. I'm also quite sure the boat has silencer tips. Seeing that the boat lives in Sweden it has to comply with EU law regulations as part of the import.

@uls28133 жыл бұрын
They’ll run a lot faster on average and in some cases faster with a great disparity in horse power
@dieseldog002 жыл бұрын
Hydrodynamic efficiency. Cats are 12-15mph faster than Vs b/c the cat's tunnel brings air underneath, raising the hull for more speed. Downside is too much air in the tunnel can induce "blowover"which means too much air underneath the bows can cause a cat to lift its bows and flip over backwards. We've lost ten racers, maybe more due to blowover.
