I love love love Kobe’s milk chocolate and am sad it’s LE. I read on Reddit though that Herbin’s Terre de Feu is similar and better behaved, so that is now on my wishlist! Also I know you’ve mentioned this before, but where did you get the bottle stamp you use in your ring binder?

Love those colors - Studio 373 is my favorite. "Similar inks all look pretty much the same in finer nibs!!!" is my first entry in ink swatch journals. A warning to keep my buying impulses in check. Actually, not watching such videos would be smart 😅 Anyway, thank you!

To help keep resist buying new inks, always tell myself “Ignore the cute name, ignore the cool bottle, ignore the big sexy splotches of swatches, just look at the actual color in the actual writing” cuz that is what I use it for - writing!❤ And yes, not even watching this type of video would be good too but I am living vicariously!

What is the difference between the kakimori steel and brass nibs? Looking to get one for myself.

The brass was lovely but the amount of ink it “let go of” was too much for my smaller writing. I feel like it is a personal preference. Both are good but I prefer the steel. The writing is more precise with it.

Karyna is doing swatching…open up the “I Want” spreadsheet 😁 I’m using an A5 Iroful notebook and putting one color per page with a large swatch and a writing sample (I have a couple of Hocoro dip pens to use for different sizes.) Then, I’m using a Kokuyo A5 binder and cutting Rhodia, TRP-S 2024 Hobonichi and Kokuyo Business (and maybe Maruman…I have to check what paper it is in my Septcolour notebook…if it’s not Mnemosone, I’ll have to order one…and also maybe paper from a Dollar Tree Composition notebook that is supposed to be fountain pen friendly…you choose the ones Made in Vietnam,) as my binder with my inks on different papers…I’m going to start with a Q-tip for swatching. 😅 As I write this, I’m thinking “Molly, you’re crazy!” But, I am on a quest for alternative papers for TRP for next year’s planner cause I just can’t trust that they are going to be any good. I can take my time…I only have like 30 inks (samples with one bottle) to try 🤣

Be careful with putting a wet brush into ink. It can introduce bacteria with the water that can ruin your inks. I haven’t seen it happen myself but I’ve heard it from a lot of people. Mostly yelling at someone in the comments 😂😂

I'm fascinated that brown tones can be so different. I'm really liking browns and greys at the moment. If someone had told me that a couple of years ago I wouldn't have believed it. 😇🩵🙏🙌
