Our Artists Group had a guest speaker from Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts (one of the first art schools in the USA) on Tuesday and he showed us two videos of his work, one landscape and one PORTRAIT! Hello Gaynor, your old photo album is beautiful - you could create a whole album of fictional friends and family. My first thought was, this would be ideal for charcoal or oil pastel drawings, as the protective pages are already there. No need to fiddle with fixative etc. Happy New Year!

So nice to have you back, love this weeks portrait practice. Here is another way to enjoy dark chocolate, it has pumpkin seeds in it, pumpkin seeds are a great source of magnesium, omega 6 and omega 3 fats. They are a superfood. HEALTHY DARK CHOCOLATE BITES Ingredients 300g dark chocolate bars (at least 60% cocoa) 1 cup pumpkin seeds, raw and unsalted 1 cup sunflower seeds, raw and unsalted 1 1/4 cup unsweetened ground coconut (you can also use coconut flakes) 1 tsp sea salt Instructions Break up chocolate bars into smaller pieces and place in a pyrex bowl (heat-safe bowl). Fill a medium saucepan about 1/3 full of water and place over medium-high heat. Rest the Pryex bowl over the top, creating a double boiler. Once the water in the saucepan has started boiling, lower it to a simmer. Stir the chocolate pieces constantly until the last of the chocolate has just melted. Do not boil the chocolate as the fats will separate from the cocoa. Remove from heat and stir in the dry ingredients. Line a large baking sheet with wax paper and spread the mixture out over it, creating small chunks. Don't worry if they don't all end up separated, you can break them up like a bark once they have hardened. Allow to cool and harden overnight.

Gaynor, I so enjoyed this weeks video. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Your orchids are doing great. I have a pot of three that have kept on now for 18 years. The pot is huge now, I can’t lift it. I found this magnificent gouache, you probably have heard of it Lascaux. They have a Resonance line, that is non toxic and made with Rosemary oil, they say it’s wonderful for art therapy….but to me it’s like painting in Heaven. The paint is matte and like butter. I just got the primary’s but am putting in a new order for umber, white and black. I am loving this brand and the lefranc bourgeois Flashe paints as well. But painting with good paint that smells like rosemary has me so excited. Maybe some of your viewers will find the same.

Hello Shelly, I adore any paper over 300 gsm, cartridge, watercolour, the thicker the better. I usually buy 50 sheets from Jacksons, but will pick up anything that looks good ! XX

Hello chère Madame, i just watch your video again. Where did you get the album? I have a project to make collage with photos of my grand-son, 2, First i thought to do a collage on a canvas. As i have many photos which i will cut and integrate in a collage, i think it is better to have different pages and create every time another theme and integrate images from him.
