Definitely a real treasure. I have a Forever. I chose it from FPR, with an EF nib, which i tried to further grind to a more narrow line myself. I'm afraid that I need a true nib meister. But I think that I can feel Mr. Ratnam Kumar encouraging me to simply keep writing with it. It got me through a very difficult time in my life. It is a treasure.

Fair review. These are lovely pens. Being handmade, there are subtle variations among different pieces. The ebonite colours and patterns also vary from lot to lot. All this makes for rich variety. I have six of these pens. Being in India, I get them from ASA pens on line. Earlier we could only get them in Chennai-Madras. Gama fit them uniformly with an Indian fine nib,#6, which writes thicker than a Western fine. The flow being good, it writes almost like a medium. The Gama nib is a nice two tone. Even so, i have fitted them with different nibs for variety. This is one of the most satisfactory pens I have, though the entire Gama range is good. This is unbelievable at the price, and changes the very grammar of pen making- that the better ones should be costlier! I have been using Gama pens for 20 years.

Good evaluation. I am using gama pens from 2000.

Thank you for the helpful video. The report on the nib was especially useful. I've got a growing interest in FPR myself, so this honest review is valuable. :-) To be honest, the stub experience you mention is not too different from the #6 replacement nibs I've bought from other companies, like Goulet Pens.com here in the USA. They, too, come with rounded "corners" and are not crisp italic nibs. But in a pen that writes as wet as this seems to, I think I can live with that. :-) And now I've *got* to try that Diamine Terracotta ink. Thank you Mick! Happy New Year!

Nailed it. I have a few Indian pens. Like the materials but design & writing leaves a lot to be desired. Do you think the feed/nib are tuned for an eye dropper fill?

Dryer inks are best, I think.

Checked in with FPR website. Handmade pens made in Chennai . No stock available. Any idea how you can get onto the manufacturer Mick?

Thanks Mick, Nice pen and ink combo. I like the ebonite pen bodies a lot. Ranga [on ebay] do similar but better quality and more expensive too. I bought Ranga Pens with German JoWo nibs from Peyton Street Pens in USA. As I said they're more expensive than Gamaq but great quality and lovely writing nibs. They came with a converter and silicon grease and an eyedropper. Keep up the good work!

Andrew Leon thanks. I have a couple of Rangas on my wish list... but that wish list is so long who knows how long it will take to get the them. I almost bought one from Peyton a while back, but the postage and conversion was not great at the time. I definitely want to look at them though.

I've been debating about getting one of these so thanks for the review. What size nib was it and can it be swapped?

DId you face any burping issues as yet?
@theoffstageme7 жыл бұрын
Pranay Godha no more than any other eyedropper pen. Maybe one or two burps when I first ink it up, but no more than that. I know there are people who have had such issues, but I haven't seen it with this pen.
