It saddens me to see what people think of “talent” these days. In a world of Kim Kardashians, reality stars/ influencers and an endless stream of KZbinrs I see little to no talent. I look at these young men and women and it brings tears to my eyes. I grew up studying violin, music theory and dance. I know the dedication and hard work it takes and I just wanna say AWESOME JOB!!!!

Young people, esp. middle school age, are capable of making incredible music. I taught instrumental music at the high school level in Texas, and there was nothing like it. I occasionally go back and listen to a recording of one of our groups, and it still brings tears. It is beyond amazing BECAUSE THEY ARE KIDS for all practical purposes. The memories are precious. Music also enhances their learning skills.

This simply cannot be, for it is astounding. Kids this young doing these great works combined into one so wondrously just doesn't happen...except that it did, and apparently does. Such beauty hidden in them until now, brought out by a visionary (who I wish appeared in the video) and joined by those happy to follow inspired leading. Even if the audio was recorded inside and the video outside, still, this is their accomplishment, and it is great. How deeply thrilling. Thank you.

Absolutly not. This also is the melody to "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser" and "Das Lied der Deutschen", of which the latter the 3rd stanza forms our national anthem today. The lyrics were published shortly before the 1848 revolution by Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben in his Book "Deutsche Lieder aus der Schweiz". The song was part of a liberal and democratic movement. Only the first stanza was misused and misinterpreted by the nazis, however, the official anthem was the "Horst-Wessel-Lied". It is, contrary to "Das Lied der Deutschen" (!!!), forbidden in Germany today.

In the first stanza, "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles" refers to the idea of a German state rather than many regional states. It was a message regarding domestic, not european politics and expansion. Again, the Nazis misinterpreted this to Germany being superior above other nations. Out of respect, the first stanza thus isn't usually sung today, although there is nothing wrong nor illegal about it.
