ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

Jessie Reyez is guilty of that. People grow tired of that belting cry after a while. I don't get that problem with Laura. Listen to the original of this song - the way it's written is in those fast spit belting range chorus. It's where the voice is meant to sit on those lyrics. As Nial pointed out that's difficult to do. And you need some nice tone in there to make it not too strident. This girl showed lovely low notes and some warm vibrato as well as the power and presence to deliver a lyrically tough song. Tough songs are not all about range or sustained high notes - Nine to Five by Dolly Parton is a very hard song to sing well - because of the tempo and plethora of lyrics among a fast verse and big chorus = little time to breathe. That said - I think Laura would do better with Reba as her coach. She shouldn't have chosen her crush to coach her. I think she'll end up with Reba.
