Wow! Never seen a porcupine in the wild and to see one climbing up those trees was amazing. Editing on your videos has become so very good! Thank you for taking us along.

Where did you get that otter tail paddle? And your husband’s canoe pack is just like mine. Any chance you got it from Larry?

@@ThePastorPiper my husband bought the paddle at Canoecopia about 2 years ago, I don't remember who he bought it from. I love that paddle. Our canoe packs are Cookes Custsom Sewing packs. I am getting excited about a brand new year for trips as I go though this old video. Happy New Year!

It looks like badger or something like that. Very cool. I bought a pack from Larry (nibimocks) (can’t spell it) and I know he had a twin so was just curious if you guys had the twin. That would have been funny.

@@ThePastorPiper - I bought our packs new for various holiday/birthday for my husband in past years, could be a triplet to yours and Larry's LOL

Fun video. Loved seeing the porcupine even if he wasn't thrilled to see you. It was great sharing the trip with you, especially since I didn't have to put up with the skeets! That portage at the end looked like a super highway compared to the ones in the boundary Waters... Especially the ones you negotiated on your August trip. As always, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for watching! Yes, definitely not a challenge in terms of portages and travel distances as compared to the BWCA. A good destination to see some wildlife, knock the dust off the.gear, and fall to sleep listening to a very loud chorus of your "skeets" 😉

Our mosquitoes are quite bad in May and June then taper off quite a bit in July and August. Looks like porky like you area by the lake...LOL 👍😀

Hike Camp, sometimes it's that way for us too, but this year July was pretty buggy. The porcupine started heading into camp when I was washing lunch dishes on day 2 and took off up a tree when I stood up to get a good look. On day 3 he came out before sunrise when I was sitting out by the lake waiting for everyone to wake up and later he climbed a tree and watched us from high above, stayed there in that same spot all day. Looking forward to some 2020 Hike Camp videos!
