If you’re thinking of visiting the Faroe Islands, then I hope this film gives you an insight into what to expect. In this jam packed 4 day vlog, we have many adventures, which include a ferry ride to see the puffins, a day of exploring valleys and waterfalls, and many incredible hikes including the most spectacular which was Kalsoy Island. The location of the final scenes in James Bond ‘No time to die’.

I don't live there anymore (I live in Denmark), but it's always enjoyable watching foreigners experiencing the islands. It makes me appreciate my old life more. When you live there, it's just normal and "boring" everyday life, and we often forget to appreciate how special the islands are. 🙃

We certainly appreciated the Faroes and it's one of my favourite places I've ever been. The islands are very special and you were lucky to live there.... Even if the weather is temperamental! ☺️

I visited back in 1987 when I was in the RAF. We spent 4 weeks working at the Danish radar site on top of a mountain at Mjørkadalur. It was a busy 4 weeks but the Danish servicemen managed to take us on tours every weekend. It is such a beautiful place. I believe the radar site closed down many years ago.

In September 2018, I (71) accompanied my friend (80) for a 2 week adventure on the Faroes. We hired a car and, by staying in 3 different airbnb locations, visited almost all the northern islands. I have travelled a lot over the years and can safely say that the Faroe Islands are in my top 3 places anywhere.

To all of our Faroese friends…. I’m thinking of visiting a place that has polar day/midnight sun and The Faroe Islands speak to me. It seems like late May to late July are the months of Polar Day there in the FI. Does that suggest that right in the middle of this time is the point of the highest sun position in the sky? Is the July 10th time frame still very sunny or is the sun very low at this point? In this video… it’s SO GREEN! I read that this was in May… is it still this that green in July?

Dkr250 is crazy expensive to have a little hike and a hot chocolate which I'm assuming wasn't included in the admission price. It seemed like a lot of tourists wearing €2000 of gear on the ferry!

Good video 👍🏼 By the way how did you get to the Faroes from the U.K. 🇬🇧? Was the flight ✈️ direct from London? And also does the U.K. Home From Home SIM card work in the Faroe Islands 🇫🇴 without roaming charges? Also which month did you go to the Faroes ?

how much for the gas? Looks like you have a lot of traveling from the hotel to the scenic spots? Is parking costly near charters to the other islands? Schedules of charters to other island/towns? I'm from the Azores [Portuguese islands @ Terceira] and I've wondered what life is like for other country island life. This is a pleasure to see and most recent as well. Thanks for sharing.
@WestGoesEast
@WestGoesEast 2 жыл бұрын
We only filled up the tank once. The islands are quite small so you don't need that much. We didn't ever pay for parking... Im not sure they charge anywhere there tbh. I might be wrong in the bigger towns. Hope that helps

@@WestGoesEast Im pretty sure parking is free everywhere, but there are some parking zones with limited amount of time to park, if you exceed that time you get a ticket :)

THEY DOLPHIN KILLERS SHOOT A DRONE WITH A SHOTGUN WHEN SOMEONE TRYIED TO DOCUMENT THE MASS KILINGS OF CETACEANS IN FEROE.!!! MASS KILINGS OF DOLPHINS IN SUFFERING EVERY YEAR....THEY DON´T EVEN EAT THEM AND THROW IT AWAY BECAUSE THEIR POPULATION IS VERY LOW !!! THEY HAVE SHEEP ALL OVER THE ISLAND. THEY SPENT 140 MILLON EUROS IN CAR TUNELS AND ROADS BUT THEY STILL SLAUGHTER DOLPHINS FOR MEAT HAVING SHEEP AND MONEY ? THEY SAY IS TRADITION AND TEACH THEIR KIDS TO PUT AN AXE TO THE HEAD OF DOLPHINS ON THE BEACH. THEY KILLED 1500 LAST YEAR- BEASTS. WE ARE NOT ALONE, PLEASE GO TO EVERY FAROE ISLAN TOURIST VIDEO AND COPY PASTE THIS: An international Declaration of Rights for Cetaceans was formulated in 2010 declaring dolphins and whales as “persons” to be afforded “non-human rights”, including freedom of movement and residence and not to be killed, captured, bred, or enslaved. A subsequent global movement for cetacean rights was launched in 2012.Aug 3, 2017 PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT MASS MURDER IN FAROE ISLANDS AND GENOCIDE TO INOCENT CREATURES, WATCH THE VIDEO TO BE INFORMED. Thanks for the video, I have been there but for a music festival in Gota. Which was a bit boozy, however I will go back and travel round far more, as using a car will get me to some of the most stunnng scenery anywhere in the world. Going to check your Svalbard video, went there as well, but the boat trip to Pryamiden got cancelled. Anyway, have one question, what is the second piece of music you used in the video arond the 20 minute mark? Also have you been to Greenland yet? Haven't checked all your videos but didn't see that destination on your landing page.

It's certainly well worth a revisit if you didn't see much of the island. Shame your Pyramiden trip got cancelled...I hope you got to get out on the water at least? Thanks so much for sharing this. It's something I'm planning for next year going Solo. Can you advise me of the accomodation you stayed at, cost of hiring a car? Ideally want to do the same itinerary I've priced flights from Newcastle to Copehagen then Vagar. Wish there was a direct flight from Newcastle. Was hoping end of March early April 2023

You're welcome. We stayed at Gjaargardur Guesthouse in Gjogv. The prices vary depending on which room you want... More pricey with better views. I highly recommend the place its in. One of the prettiest towns we visited and nice hikes near by. Evening meals are expensive there but make your money back by eating all the salmon at breakfast! Our hire car company we used was rentyourcar.fo no problems and helpful.... Cost us £438 for 5 days but bare in mind tunnel costs on top. We flew with sas who are cheaper I think but they don't have the technology to land their planes in thick mist but Atlantic airways do... Bare that mind. Unfortunately you can't fly direct from the UK. Have a great time!

25:23 in case you wanna know, the remotest place on in the faroes is the island called Lítla Dímun. it is uninhabited and as far as i remember you can only get there with a sailboat and then row from the sailboat to the island in a little rowing boat. there's a reason it's uninhabited
